But it won't be "Farmers" like Ma and Pa Kettle who get the $$, that'd be too much like what the program was intended to do. It will however go to multi million/billion dollar farming corporations who call themselves "Farmers" as yet another subsidy to not grow food.

It didn't say whether or not they were ice fishing, so assume just out joy riding? And it was 'night' so assume alcohol was involved somehow. And I've never seen fishermen drink...

I've got a couple of my grandma's bowls and her cast iron chicken fryer too. I'll pass them to our oldest granddaughter when that time comes. The stories and memories of using these items at my grandma's side, learning to make bread and Pasties, breakfasts etc. that's what I've been passing along.

Oh yeah, been to the one in Manistique many times before it 'shut down' and we were still allowed at the 'family cabin' in Gulliver.

And of course we grew up going to Grandma and Grandpas in Muskegon, about a mile and a half from the Getty Drive In which is still open.

We grew up going to the drive in, mom and dad would pack my sister and I up, pop flats filled with snackie stuff, then off to the drive in before dark. We'd watch the cartoons and dancing wieners etc. I remember the "Trinity" marathon most...a lot of Spaghetti Westerns back then.

I've been in 10 footers on Lakes Michigan and Huron (21' hardtop fishing boat), not fun but no problems, and I'll go out in four footers. I don't go out on Superior even in calm weather; got tossed out of a 16' fishing boat on Superior when I was 12, some memories stay with you.

Be well, and hopefully it isn't too bad. Like UPBB I've never had it and don't look forward to ever having it.

I left town around 9 but I heard it was really nice out yesterday afternoon.

So much better than Wed, ended up at the Super 8 in Wells. The drive home on Thursday wasn't exactly a picnic either, patches of ice (a few for miles), slushy, and crosswinds all the way to the Bridge, and boy was the bridge fun, Wah.

We were talking about Costco needing to be in UP the other day. Everyone involved is from Mqt. area but we all agreed it'd be in Esky if anywhere...Mqt gets too much snow for a Costco even though they have a larger population.
