Oh, definitely queue up Scandal next if you haven’t seen it. You will love.
comment in response to post
I am maybe not the best person to be giving you recs, but from the ‘things I’m always surprised people haven’t seen” bag: Jack Ryan with John Krasinski, Silo, Scandal/HTGAWM, FROM if you don’t mind horror/gore

What are 3 shows that you love?

Oooh 😍

Wayyy better to figure out you made that mistake at 26 then sink more years into it.

Seemed questionable that they brought him back for the game to begin with.

Right? There’s the magic they’ve been hiding all season.

Do it all. The one account one topic thing should die with the old place. Contain legions.

I tell ya what. I’ve been on following stan online stuff for about a year and have come to the conclusion that everyone thinks Taylor is a mastermind mostly because of their own complex theories that become lore even when they don’t happen. But if this 3/21 thing is true I will take it all back

Penguins out here catching strays 😭

I also appreciate your empathy, I promise I’m not actually upset by this. I offered a couple of what were intended to be fairly neutral discussion comments, which I stand by. I am genuinely sorry that I didn’t realize she’s in such a bad place right now. I would have scrolled past.
comment in response to post
I appreciate your genuineness. 😊

I’m not going to not post my very reasonable message because I don’t know what kind of dms she’s getting? I’m not arguing with her, I’m sort of rabbit holing with you because you want to talk about it. If she wasn’t in a place to handle discourse shutting down comments was the right thing to do
comment in response to post
I’m not offended if she isn’t “receptive”. I offered a thought for her (and the 650+) people who liked the post to consider. If she does or doesn’t is up to her that’s how social discourse works. I am genuinely sorry if she’s been receiving hateful pushback today
comment in response to post
“She just sees people responding to her hurt with attempts to explain why she should be okay with it.” I absolutely did not do that. A lot of people are having very painful days today for very valid reasons.
comment in response to post
Honestly, I don’t know her at all and Im not super comfortable “discussing” her in subbleets (or whatever we’re calling them) like this. I think I offered someone an adjunct to their opinion to consider about as respectfully as it’s possible to.
comment in response to post
I mean, I literally started with “You’re not wrong.”
comment in response to post
More to the point, if I didn’t like Erin I would have bothered responding at all.
comment in response to post
I think I offered my opinion respectfully. But pointing out ‘hey this is actually how we lost’ feels really, really important and relevant right now. I’m not minimizing her pain I offered something to consider because the narrative we build coming out of this matters.
comment in response to post
Losing the war of ‘who can lie better to people who mostly care only about themselves’ is absolutely how we lost.
comment in response to post
I don’t think it’s us she’s lying to. Either you’re educated enough to know real US history or you’re not. For the very large percentage for whom the answer is not, I don’t think ‘Eh, actually we’ve always kind of been okay with Nazis’ is the message we want people percolating right now.
comment in response to post
You’re not wrong, but at what cost realism? I think we’ve established ‘the side that tells the truth the hardest’ is not the side that ‘wins’. Given the state of unfolding events, this seems like not a terrible time in to be trying to instill in people that Nazi-ism is inherently unAmerican.

‘U.S. gov has to approve recipient of sale’ is built right into it. It’s going to go to Musk or someone identical.

That’s why games have story mode!!! Don’t know if I’ll have any unique recommendations then. I played tf out of Veilguard. Bluesky has such a huge indie gamer community though if you need off the beaten path recommendations.

Need a fresh round of block packs.

People (and the Democratic Party) need to figure out that “enough people didn’t realize they should be outraged” is not why we lost and accept that running a campaign centered around moral outrage and doing the right thing is never going to work. Too many people just don’t care.
comment in response to post
Depends on if you’re a pew pew kill em all kinda person or a send me on an epic quest so I can save the world kind of person and whether you normally play video games?

Man if I had a dollar for everytime I’ve said that.

How did you know 😆

Bills, because watching them cry after will be the most satisfying.

It’s even possible the Chinese government might be able to exploit the Tik Tok app on careless government officials’ phones. But since Musk has just shown Trump how powerfully social media can be used to subvert elections, I don’t think anyone in power cares about that anymore. I’d find a new app 🤷‍♀️
comment in response to post
I’d say within the context of the US the ways sm is used currently does more good for the 1% than causes harm, yes. Which is why a TikTok shut down to silence people doesn’t make sense. Which is probably why it’s right back up with Trump’s blessing.
comment in response to post
Just waiting for the announcement of Musk’s 50% purchase as the official US backed buyer now.
comment in response to post
I recommend video games.
comment in response to post
Sorry, mistranslated “those of us who give a shit”, but my statement stands. Tik Tok was also used egregiously to spread disinformation. The “99%” wasn’t winning over there. Whatever the motivations for shutting down Tik Tok in the US it wasn’t all the good American Tik Tok users accomplish.
comment in response to post
Uh huh. You said the government is shutting down Tik Tok to silence the leftists. We pointed out that’s super unlikely and we’re just jumping off to the next thing? Like, yes, we already know the government is bad and not real proponents of free speech.
comment in response to post
No, I am drawing conclusions based on the complete failure of peaceful US protests of international genocides to curb the actual genocide there. I went to BLM protests. I’m not scoffing at anyone who used Tik Tok to find their way there. Like I said I hope you find new tools to help you.
comment in response to post
That’s…nearly every US politician. Those voices haven’t been silenced, just Americans ability to keep up with them via Tik Tok, and I’m really dubious that those of us more aware has made any kind of impact on those conflicts that would drive a shut down. Seems like a self important narrative.
comment in response to post
Still in the Bay Area and dreading this approaching situation.
comment in response to post
It also completely centers and inflates the importance of American TikTok users in making any impact on the destruction that is nearly complete over there.
comment in response to post
I’m glad you found good tools there, and hope you continue to find them elsewhere? I’m literally not saying you shouldn’t miss tiktok? I’m saying the “they shut down tik tok to stop all the great things it was doing for Palestine” narrative is factually inaccurate and pretty wild.

After further looking down this rabbit hole I now believe people really are this ignorant and wrapped in their own self important bubble.
