Fucking hell, Gene Hackman

Put quite simply, outside of family Henry Kelly is probably the single biggest reason why I am the way I am. Seeing, from a very early age, an Irish man on British TV, hosting a pan-European quiz, crystallized something in me I've tried to run with ever since. He was such a versatile talent. RIP

That's me back from the Round Britain Qastle. To paraphrase Game of Thrones: You either win RBQ, or you have a lovely time.

Hello and welcome to RBQ (Round Britain Qastle)

Went to the Baltic Arts Centre yesterday. It was class.

Right who have you got in your Fantasy Conclave Draft

Went to a Brazilian steakhouse for lunch - if @newkiedookie.bsky.social and Joelinton say it's good then I'm there! May never need to eat again l: the food came quicker than I could photograph it, so here's an artist's impression instead.

Fuckin love this town man

Hellooo Newcastle! Best set of bridges this side of Lloyd and Jeff

I'm on my way to the highlight of my year - Round Britain Quiz recording! I always love the process of stagecoaching it down prior, and the view rather justifies that instinct...

Never let them tell you that Irishness is some set, immutable fact of the blood

“I just wanna say trans people are beautiful. We are never going to stop existing. I’m never gonna stop being trans, a letter on a passport can’t change that, and fuck this administration.”

All my adult life has been centreground politicians never shutting up about how "people are afraid to speak about immigration". And while they wang on about the need to not look down on "legitimate concerns", these hateful goblins get stronger (and will never hate those parties any less).

When your Garbage tribute act has a sax player in it

How about that: Hooters going tits up.

A man of the people.

Very cool that political writers nowadays have no idea 1) who FDR was 2) he was the hoorin origin of Presidents having a first 100 Days. God, I despair.

Successfully installed a new internet router lads

Loving this new role United occupy as being a team that make Spurs look good

A rare Sunday lunchtime PCC match today lads

Happy tenth birthday to a real one

On Feb. 14th I try always to give honor to one of the greatest contributors to American democracy in our nation’s history, Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery, Douglass never knew his actual birthdate, and adopted Feb. 14th as the day. His penetrating insights about our country inspire me daily.

A much needed boost for the local economy.

Finally found him lads. Tbh I wasn't expecting such a fancy office or such a flimsy alias.

Saw a bit of this at the Edinburgh festival and it was genuinely one of the funniest clips I'd ever seen

Something deeply mortifying about Britain's biggest bellend being Scottish ngl

The most shameless 52 people in the world are ruining everything eh

Last night we ended up drinking Special Brew with Sean Dyche in a sports bar, as several screens showed the Merseyside derby. I think it's much funnier not to elaborate further.

Leslie Nielsen would have been 99 today. So many brilliant lines across Airplane, Due South, Police Squad, Naked Gun, etc etc, but for some reason this extremely stupid like always tickles me.

he looks like the two banshees of inisherin guys combined

There's a lot of chat of guillotines lately, but let's not forget about the value of a good oul defenestration

Herself asked how quiz testing went tonight and it turns out you can make all sorts of new emojis out of a general response now.

‘As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a tree surgeon’

Thinking of lovely Katie Dawson today

So You Bent the Knee and Were Banished Anyway: A Guide for Mainstream Media

Would have been Jack Lemmon’s hundredth birthday today. Not just one of the great actors, but also possessor of the best gravestone in existence.

Media appointees to the Seanad have gone up in standard since Eoghan Harris I guess. (Thoughts with @wildstate.bsky.social at this difficult time)
