Everyone needs to see the best moments from Bernie Sanders and AOC’s rally in front of 36,000 people today. Something big is happening in this country.

"Donald Trump’s erratic and foolish actions have turned the most desirable financial haven in the world into a whirlpool of risk. The safest way to conduct business now is to avoid the United States to the greatest extent possible."

“Collective resistance is a collective-action problem. If people don’t join together in resisting, he wins, he dominates. This is what his base loves to see.” And this is what We, the Resistance must avoid. Only in solidarity can we ever hope to overcome. www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a...

The best way to hold those in D.C. responsible is to vote them out. I'm running for Congress because Arizona deserves better than MAGA extremist David Schweikert. I can't win this race alone. Join me, spread the word, and let's flip this seat: secure.actblue.com/donate/trebl...

It’s wild that Trump surrendered to the companies that bribed him but decided to just go ahead and keep fucking over small businesses just for the hell of it.

WELL...It looks like Felon 47 is guilty of Extortion!!!

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social makes an incredibly important observation here. Stay engaged. Keep speaking out. I’ll never stop fighting to protect our democracy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aDb...

For people asking about my Passover email message today, here is a link to a preview and to subscribe. newsletters.democracydocket.com/why-this-nig...

Apple CEO Tim Cook donated $1 million to Donald Trump’s inauguration. Looks like he’s getting a big return on his investment.

Thank you for all the kind notes about my piece this morning. Happy Passover.

More of this, please! academeblog.org/2025/04/11/t...

American presidents decades from now will still be cleaning up what Trump did to this country in 2025. The mess is made, and it's too late to avoid the pain. @davidfrum.bsky.social joins @jvl.bsky.social, in for Tim, on today's Bulwark Podcast:

In Houston 20 children attacked 3 Afghan Muslim girls wearing hijab, ripping their hijabs off, pulling their hair, and beating them unresponsive: www.youtube.com/shorts/FVDVs... National Corp media is ignoring this story. I will continue to report on it. Subscribe at www.qasimrashid.com/subscribe

The Trump regime is working to deter dissent. Anyone who goes against Trump could end up on a target list. This is having a chilling effect on five major pillars of society — universities, science, the media, the law, and the arts. It's straight out of the fascist playbook.

Yes, in a perfect world, the cautious, reasonable middle would be a great spot. But, this isn't a perfect world. Sometimes diplomacy enables the predators. Sometimes silence is participation. Sometimes the fence is the seat of the coward. johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/the-fascis...

At what point will we finally admit that Trump is a Dictator, not a President? www.nytimes.com/2025/04/11/n...

Exactly

The phenomenon of prominent Democrats not acting like they really believe American democracy is facing an existential crisis is starting to really upset Democratic voters, Big Law edition. ICYMI @lauren-egan.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/big-backla...

An official at the firm told The Bulwark that, as of this morning, 205 of the more than 400 signatories had attached their actual names to the letter. The others signed anonymously. The firm employs roughly 4,000 lawyers globally.

Nicole Malliotakis still hasn’t held a town hall. We’re inviting her - again - but don’t hold your breath. You can show up though! Let’s talk about what matters most in #NY11. 4/23 in Bay Ridge, BK. 7-830. @indivisible.org www.mobilize.us/indivisiblen...

When Trump, Musk, and MAGA extremists try to gut Social Security and slash Medicaid to fund billionaire tax breaks, our seniors say: Hands off! We’re not backing down. We’re just getting started.

I’ve seen enough: Throw the presumption of regularity in the trash. It’s over, folks.

We're really not fucking around with this constitutional crisis stuff. It's real. Trump is doing lasting damage to our institutions, political & economic, that can't be undone & will take a decade or more to rebuild–if at all. Don't let yourself fall on the wrong side of history.

"Wednesday’s equities rally was short-lived, the slide in the dollar continues, and the flight from U.S. treasuries shows no signs of abating...We’ll be lucky to get out of this with just a normal recession, as opposed to a real international economic crisis." www.thebulwark.com/p/not-seriou...

"It was the worst type of magical thinking to imagine Trump would have any serious constraints in a second term ... If his voters believed he wouldn’t be stupid and malevolent enough to obliterate the economy for no good reason, they simply didn’t pay attention to his first term or 2024 campaign."

Donald Trump wants everyone to cave to him. He wants his executive orders to carry the force of law. But that’s not how our democracy works. I fully support Governor Mills and Attorney General Frey for standing their ground. www.pressherald.com/2025/04/11/w...

We are not afraid of you, because even with the greatest seat of power, you are a spectacularly small man. We are not afraid of you because you are not worthy of our fear; because that would mean respecting you—and we do not. johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/we-the-peo...

Bravo to Susman Godfrey. My first reaction to hearing they had been targeted was to tell people that it wasn’t in that firm’s DNA to settle. Their late founder Steve Susman would be proud of his firm—as should our profession and all freedom-loving Americans.

Finally. Universities with backbone. Thank you, Harvard and Princeton. Well done! Courtesy of Amy Siskind

If you are a law student or associate who joined one of the Big Law firms that is now collaborating with Trump to do pro bono, ignore the bullshit management is telling you. Here is what Trump has in mind for you. Your spineless leaders will never say no to him.

I hate to say this, and it gives me the chills just to think it, but CECOT is on (and not a short way down) the road to Auschwitz.

If you build a machine to oppress people, the People Oppression Machine will constantly search for new targets. There is no off switch. This has always been true.

Raskin: If they can just sweep someone off the street, put them on an airplane, and send them to a torturer’s prison in an authoritarian state like El Salvador without due process… then they could do it to anybody.

I know some of you might be getting sick of the dark clouds of morally degraded, culturally impoverished authoritarian decay descending on the entire country and its territories but at least everything is more expensive and shittier than it materially was previously

An innocent man, picked up by “mistake,” must not be allowed to rot in an El Salvadorian jail. Mr. President. Obey the courts. Obey our Constitution. Bring him home immediately.

As corporate media caved, independent media rose to the occasion to hold Trump accountable.

The four law firms that it was announced are now Trump collaborators -- Kirkland & Ellis, Latham & Watkins, Simpson Thacher, and A&O Shearman Sterling -- ALSO agreed today to "Disavow DEI" as part of a settlement with EEOC. Why would any new associate join such a place? Why would any partner stay?

I agree. In a functioning democracy, we would already be in the midst of an impeachment trial.

This is all horrifying. Our system is not supposed to work like this.

Raskin: They want to go back to the idea that the law doesn’t apply to them in anyway, they’re not bound by the law, and they can use the law to crush other people

"The 2024 election wasn’t a restaurant where you could order cheaper eggs but politely ask for the server to hold the fascism. You’re still getting the fascism, and your eggs aren’t just overpriced now, they’re broken and rotten." -- @playtyperguy.com

I just want to extend a sense of sorry and empathy to all the people about to get the rudest of awakenings. Those who are about to feel the suffering and pain that is borne of ignorance and ego.

Dems in Congress, universities, Big Law, corporations who keep trying appeasement hoping it will work: you fuckers had better think about how that will work out for you in the post-Tr*mp era, bc we will not forget who capitulated and who held the line.

@gregdoucette.bsky.social Cops are great

Elon Musk can't be trusted with rockets, drugs, video games, social media, or even his own children. He damn sure can't be trusted with your data.
