To Sleep in a Sea of Stars - yes. Loved it. Factual Noise I received for Christmas so it's on my TBR pile (along with so much else!). Can't wait for Murtagh - I'm about 600 pages through Brisingr so should be bang on track!

Oh awesome! I'm doing a re-read of the cycle culminating in a first read of Murtagh when it gets its paperback release next month 📚🐉

If you've not read the series, I highly recommend it.

Not surprised it's become an instant favourite, they're an incredible couple of games for sure! You may not consider yourself extremely good, but I consider my drawing skills extremely bad! 😅 But a 'journal' of a king to flick back through should be very fun to do and reflect on.

Chrono Trigger is so very good. Easily among my top games of all time, let alone RPGs. 🎮❤️

Triangle Strategy & Super Mario 3D World+ Bowser's Fury are the games for this weekend 🎮. Hoping to get the former complete this weekend, I feel like I'm so close to the end!!

Love the idea - I'm doing it myself but in a far less creative and cool way, because I can't draw for toffee and my handwriting is a scrawl! Can't wait to look back on what's played this year though! Also Golden Sun is amazing, I might put it and the sequel on my TBP list!

Both fantastic entries in the series!

PS1 FFVII for me.

Brill, just ensure you also leave Treno and SPOILERS?********************************************* Visit the place just next to Dali that Steiner visited when trying to get an airship. :)

Make sure you save beforehand, it's better to keep replaying to win, and there's a key item you can only get by leaving Treno during the tournament! Hope you haven't gone that far yet! 😅

I did spot that, sounds like an excellent idea - I love real books too, but a gaming book club seems like a cracking thing!

I really appreciate that, thanks! And will do! I've got quite a backlog across the board, but it's nice going back to my JRPG gaming roots and then looking at the wealth of SRPGs that exist there too, maybe a whole new avenue to enjoy!

Tactics Ogre is on my wishlist, so guess I better get that whilst it's on a good sale or something! Definitely prefer a physical copy. Thanks for the heads up!

Good to hear! If I like it enough I might take a lil tour of the genre on Switch! Not that it would help my backlog at all! Playing anything fun yourself?

I used to watch a bunch of anime but dropped off completely for the last few years - games though, that's the eternal in my heart 🤣.

Breath of Fire IV is absolutely amazing and never talked about! So glad to see it appear on a list of great games in any form!

It is criminally underrated I feel, for a AAA game especially. The atmosphere, music and that feeling you describe... It's all just perfect in my book. And the difficulty was great, who doesn't love a challenge!? 😅 But yeah, so so good and I wish more people knew it.

You too - if you ever wanna chat games n bits hit me up! 🎮🕹️

You know it! Currently working my way through Echoes of Wisdom after getting it as a gift from my fiancée, really enjoying it even a good chunk in!

Definitely worth knowing how to play and getting some good cards for an event partway through - you'll only get one attempt when it happens or it's back to the save file! - and I personally think the item is worth. It is not anywhere near as useful a game as Triple Triad though, so don't worry!

That's a great selection! Koudelka never gets enough love or mentions, and MGS1 is basically the pinnacle of gaming that gen. And many other gens!

I meant to write XII not XIII 😅. My B! I think 12 is sorely underestimated, especially as a PS2 game where it's a complete gem and incredible.
comment in response to post
FFXIII does not get the love and praise it deserves, as a part of the FF series or as a game overall. Incredible PS2 game for sure.

Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap for certain. Great LoZ game.

You've summed up the difference perfectly. Linear itself doesn't equal bad, but how FFXIII delivers it's journey has always felt 1000 time worse than FFX (which I thoroughly enjoyed every time I play it).

I can completely relate to this - having something more contained and with a greater sense of direction than a lot of more open games offer these days really has a place. I loved FFVII Rebirth, but afterwards it was nice to switch to something that offered... Conciseness 🤣

Yeah the end game stuff for KH2 was great, and the drive forms all felt like they had a place. Gotta hate anti-form though when you needed Drive in a clutch moment 😭🤣
comment in response to post
For me it's probably KH2 - that's the one I've played through the most for sure. Yourself?
comment in response to post
That's a good list there, I see DBZ and KH at the top and we know there's culture afoot! 😂💪
