I stopped going to pride events when corporations became involved. Their "support" never appeared to be anything more than a money grab from an untapped demographic.

It is discriminatory when there are multiple people applying that all meet the merit requirements and every time the white male is hired.

We moved alot, 15 different schools. The school library was a constant. Most librarians were happy to allow the shy new girl to help shelve books during lunch period. The library and its contents saved me.

Unfortunately, many school districts would rather fund sports teams than librarys or the arts. We as citizens do have some say in this. Attend your local school board meetings. Pay attention to the school budget. Vote in local elections.

Its only an echo chamber if you let it be. Personally, I don't take any post on any social platform as fact untill I can independently verify the information with at least one other credible source.

I love reading print books but as I've aged my vision and arthritis in my hands has become an issue. Ebooks and audio books have allowed me to read without pain.

Different libraries have different availability on books. I have a library card for the county where I live in NYS. I also have a NYC card. The NYC library system has a much bigger catalog than my local library. Sometimes holds for a book from my local library vs NYC is much shorter.
