Reverberation—because the aftershocks of this mess will still be rattling democracy long after he’s off to Mar-a-Lago.

Oh absolutely—RCV is just STV with training wheels. Love that Droop basically said, “Here’s how we elect multiple winners fairly” and later people just went, “Cool, but what if we stopped at one?”
Also, big thanks—ya girl loves a good analogy. 🔥

I agree! I’m a huge fan of RCV, but if it came down to my ideal system vs. one that’s at least fair and has traction, I’d support the bigger motion for sure.
At the end of the day, any reform is better than FPTP—we just need to rally around something and push for change.

Want electoral reform? Here’s how to help:
📢 Follow & support:
🔹 Fair Vote Canada (@fairvote.ca) – Website (PR advocacy)
🔹 No major RCV/STV groups in Canada, but we can push for them.
📢 Make noise:
🔹 Ask your MP where they stand.
🔹 Post about it.
🔹 Demand media coverage.👇

Right now, we all agree FPTP sucks, but we’re not unified on a replacement.
📢 Politicians ignore us because we’re too divided on the solution.
📢 If we rally around one, they can’t ignore us.
📢 The louder we get, the harder it is to shut us down.
So… what’s the plan? 👇

Single Transferable Vote (STV) is like PR & RCV had a chaotic but effective child. You rank candidates, but multiple winners are picked per riding.
Who’s Fighting for STV?
-No major Canadian group is actively pushing STV right now.
-Used in Ireland & Scotland, where it works well.
STV? Not likely👇

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) lets you rank candidates. If your top pick loses, your vote moves to your next choice.
Who’s Fighting for RCV?
-No major national organization pushing for RCV in Canada right now.
-Some reform groups discuss it, but there’s no strong campaign.
This one will require work👇

Proportional Representation(PR) means seats match votes. If 30% vote for the Flying Spaghetti Monster Party, they get 30% of the seats.
Who’s Fighting for PR?
-Fair Vote Canada (@fairvote.ca)
-NDP & Greens kind of support it
-Academics & political reform nerds
If PR is your thing, they are for you

We’ve got three major options that could replace FPTP:
Proportional Representation (PR) – Seats match the percentage of votes.
Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) – Rank candidates instead of picking just one. No ‘vote splitting.’
Single Transferable Vote (STV) – PR & RCV had a baby
But how do they work? 👇

2/ FPTP works like this:
🚗 Candidate A gets 35% → Wins everything
🚗 Candidate B gets 34% → Loses completely
🚗 Candidates C, D, & E? Might as well have stayed home.
If elections were Mario Kart, Canada would give all the trophies to the guy in 3rd place.
So, what are the alternatives? 👇

Hank… buddy… let the people have a moment with the anglerfish. 🥹
Look at what’s running your country right now. We need a lil love every now and then, okay?

First-Past-the-Post lets entire parties win fake majorities while most voters get ignored.
People keep arguing over who to vote for, but maybe we should fix the rigged system first.

If we really wanted to support immigrants, we’d be making sure they have somewhere to live, a real wage, and a path to stability.
Instead, we’re setting them up to fail, and then blaming them for the failures.

You could probably call or email any department, and they'd point you in the right direction. What have you got to lose but a little dignity? In this day and age, that’s a commodity most of us are trading on the regular anyway. 😅

Putting Musk in charge of rooting out government corruption is like putting a fox in charge of the henhouse—rebranding it as the Department of Fox Oversight and then wondering where all the chickens went.
