There is a certain kind of liberal more interesting in gleefully watching working people duped by Trump have their faces eaten than in changing the lot of the workers. Of course they never were that interested in it. Liberal moralism is an enemy of radical social change.

Guard completely down. Someone (governors, apparently) better fix the egg thing. Other stuff, kick can down the road and meanwhile work out who else to blame. Feeble, incompetent, narcissist.

It's that time of year when I mutter about how the framers of the Revised Common Lectionary don't understand the difference between a lectionary and a calendar. Oh well.

Some of DOGE is retribution, some is corruption, some is incompetence, some is a mix of those, but this is destruction for destruction's sake. It's undermining American science, industry, and commerce just because they can.

REVEALED: we identified the operator of an overtly racist X account, "GlomarResponder," as ICE Assistant Chief Counsel James Rodden, based on an overwhelming number of biographical details matched through publicly available documents, other social media activity, and courtroom observation.

It’s only a matter of time before Trump blames Poland for being invaded by the Nazis.

I hope Australia is noting that American strategic friendship has now become as reliable as Europe is now coming to understand it is. Time to think carefully about recalibrating security, trade, and the rest. Cozying up to Trump’s rat’s nest won’t work for long.

At the time of writing there has been an unusual amount of public attention given the nature of Christian love because of an attempt to use theological ethics to defend deportation of undocumented immigrants. 1/4

Happy Presidents' Day to the 44 presidents who never tried to become a fascist dictator.

Saw someone say, "End your friendships with people who are going about life like nothing is wrong." I will never understand people who think that further isolating ourselves from everyday people who don't get it is going to save us. It's not. Your judgment and disdain will not save us.

“We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests.” -FDR, 1941

What neither Orwell nor Bradbury imagined about their dystopian television-centered societies was that people would not need to be forced into submission, but would confuse arguing about the meaning of its content with conducting the resistance to it.

Every higher ed class has to address the crisis in the USA, regardless of topic. Last week in "Sacrifice" (in the Bible & early Christianity) we considered how "sacrifice" is used in relation to lab animals, and the heinous way apes were treated in experiments for Musk's Neuralink project. 1/3

How will the far-right "Catholic" types deal with not being able to sneer about other groups not being in communion with Rome when they decide they themselves are not?

So what he said was the Revolution will NOT be televised. Posturing over the half-time show, even when it quotes that, is exactly what they want you to do.
