Super woke, just want us all to have the same rights, and for all of us to have the promised "life, liberty, and he pursuit of happiness" inscribed in our constitution. There are traitors ruling our country now, it's not ours anymore, but the fight is now.

yes, seeing him alienate our country from our closest, most longstanding and steadfast international allies has been one of the most upsetting things about all this, i only hope that if we manage to course correct, they will forgive us

Bless you, you brave new yorkers, you were some of the first to rise up against the tyranny attempting to strangle our democracy and it was inspiring to see, it still is, i love the indomitable new yorker spirit, keep fighting!

my point was none of us experienced it, even those of us that know it happened have only heard stories, seen the documentaries, read the books, etc., few know the true horror of war, certainly not the average american sitting at home

Yes, yes, and YES! we need more of this, it's time the people represented ourselves, because our so-called leaders sure aren't doing it (with a few, beautiful exceptions of course)

every day i have a moment where it just hits me that this is all real and happening... because every day whatever new piece of news there is about the activities of the criminal organization occupying the white house sounds so farfetched that i would call bullshit if it happened in fiction

abandoning our beautiful national parks (and selling them off for lumber? are you kidding me?) may be one of the most heinous things the sentient snot bubble in the white house has done to our country, and that's a long list full of very serious offenses

I've seen (something like) this coming since his first victory in 2016, and hoenstly felt it even way back when the PATRIOT act was passed, and then Citizens United... the signs have been here for awhile, Americans just never wanted to admit it could happen here, i was called hyperbolic

Knowing he will be the cause of his own downfall does bring some small measure of comfort in these trying times, but unfortunately we can't pretend like everything's gonna go back to normal once trump is out of the white house... serious damage has been done, and will take decades to fix, at least
comment in response to post
i'm honestly surprised trump can still find anyone to lend him money or do something in exchange for money after, because he is so notorious for never paying his debts

would that we could all find John Paul Jones' indomitable spirit within us

for the modern ultra conservative christian in America, the bible is little more than a tool, used to ridicule and shame, instead of a holy religious text; they don't just cherry pick verses to use against others, they do the exact opposite of what the bible would implore them to do, if they read it

The only thing more embarrassing, trashy, sad and tragic about the picture of the President of the United States, once the most powerful and (arguably) respected position in the World, hawking consumer products from the white house is knowing this isn't the first time he's done it... sigh

count me in as well, we fight until we can't fight anymore, and then we fight some more. what we are witnessing todya in America is unprecedented for America but quite familiar to the rest of the world, we won't let this country fall to fascism without a fight, wherever the dice may land

i wholeheartedly agree, i was just telling him it's ok to be tired you know, we're all tired, and not all of us are fighters, some are better at it than others, but those others can still help in lots of ways, indeed it is important to not stop fighting, but taking a break is ok, we can take turns

what a clown show... it's like, i know these people being appointed by trump were chosen because of their perceived obsequiousness and loyalty towards him, but serendipitously, or whatever the opposite of serendipity is, every one of them is perhaps the least qualified person in the US for the job

i still can't help but feel betrayed, or at least the disgust at the perceived cowardice of our "representatives", but you make a compelling argument that i am forced to reconsider the issue. If this is the case, schumer really did take one for the team

i think we're on our own now. This is new territory, or at least, territory the likes of which we haven't seen in the better part of a century, except the mirror is being held to us now

it is too much, every day.... every day there's a whole new pile of outrageous and heinous crap to weed through, this isn't how America should be, this isn't how we should have to live, but the fascists have forced us into it; It's ok to rest awhile, we may be in for a long battle

Jasmine Crockett for president! is what i would say if i didn't have absolutely zero faith in this country's ability to even consider a woman president...

i feel confident in saying that real independent journalism has never been more important in US history than now, when most of the biggest news media are so obviously corrupt, repeating the party line, being good little soldiers... Bless you Marc Elias and keep up the good work!
comment in response to post
yes, these two traitorous parties need to be rebuilt from the gound up, and we need to be able to easily create new parties that *actually have a chance of winning an election*, none of that gerrymandering bullshit, voter suppression.. god this country is so corrupt at the highest levels

i totally agree, we should be protesting at the big privately funded media corporations for their irresponsible handling of their coverage of the ongoing fascist coup of the country, or lack thereof. tesla dealerships/factories, trump properties, media companies, what else
comment in response to post
Maybe itโ€™s time to protest at the media corporations for the dystopian hell scape theyโ€™re causing?
