Seems awful ickky to me. But ... also seems shrewd on Ukraine's part in this implementation - makes U.S. have an actual stake in Ukraine's continued security, moreso than NATO membership in fact.

You have no idea was goes into obtaining a death penalty conviction. There is virtually NO jury in the U.S. that would confer that penalty. None. Take it from someone who has put someone on death row.

I'm a career state prosecutor, put a lot of dope dealers in prison ... and I can say without doubt this is one of the worst ideas possible. On so many levels. Deranged, in fact.

I have zero sympathy for such a person.

Dumbest people on earth, voting against their self interests because they hate Mexicans or trans people.
comment in response to post
That's easy - they never will.

How are they supposed to conduct an election when they're being bombed and part of the nation is occupied by an invading army? How does such an election work?

Purposeful indignation by JD to whip MAGAs even more against Ukraine.

I even gave AOC an atta-girl yesterday. "Right wing troll" indeed!
comment in response to post
Yeah, ultimately a lot of those folks aren't our friends. They can turn in an instant. I got blocked by two yesterday, saying I was a right-wing troll. My whole Bluesky existence revolves around anti-Trump statements.

That age is gone and ain't coming back, I'm afraid. Our population is too dumb to appreciate history, science, or economics.

You keep up the pressure. You and I are from different ends of the political spectrum, but I admire your courage in standing up to this Nazi regime.

Rubio is the greatest disappointment in modern politics. I'm so ashamed to have supported him in 2016.

This is Trump's whole aim re Canada: Get all the knuckledraggers against NATO allies and then withdraw from NATO.
comment in response to post
So we can't have peacekeeping forces, Russia keeps its gained territory, Ukraine can't be in NATO - what the heck are we getting for Ukraine out of this? Temporary peace is all.

He's a Nazi, in creed and style. Nothing more needs to be said.

I agree with Bannon, and I hate myself for it.

How far Knox County has fallen to have gone from John Duncan to Tim Burchett in Congress.

Musk isn't an officer or employee, so he can't be pursued via this code section.

My prediction is Trump gets more out of the negotiation than we'd ever expect - looks like a win and his followers further solidify their trust in him. But the unstated return for Putin is that Trump keeps agitating allies and ending our NATO participation. Advantage, Putin.

He would have made a fine President. Our loss.

Describes me as well.

THEY WERE INVADED! They didn't "go into" a war.

NATO as we know it is over. RIP.
comment in response to post
We knew it was coming. It's an outright shame, but the crumbling of our constitutional structure is most important right now.

This is what people voted for. The signs were obvious to anyone with a brain.

Benedict Arnold couldn't write a better passage.

I actually have MAGAs on my FB page defending the renaming of the Gulf. It's crazy!
comment in response to post
Oh be patient. That'll happen soon enough.

I'm all for cutting fat out of federal spending, but besides the unconstitutionality of this manner, the immediate, indiscriminate cutting is very disturbing.

Every day is dumber than the last.

Who is going to charge him with perjury? Answer: No one.
