If you're interested in games and accessibility, I published 2.5 hours of videos this week across new Abletop, Access-Ability, and Ctl, Alt, Access episodes. Abletop covering board game mobility, Access-Ability a deep dive into Elden Ring Nightreign, and CAA gaming A11Y news. Links in reply.

A reminder for these times.

Insert Coin still got it. This whole line is great design without being ott / look at me nerdy, and premium looking too.

Microsoft adding £15 to their subscription service of Office purely to integrate copilot? Wild. Office shouldn't be on subscription in the first place, but you'll never make me pay for AI "enhanced" versions.

So true, NiGHTS.

“The coroner also criticised NHS 111 for “misleading” the public by calling its call handlers “health advisers”. This title, she said, “implies professionalism which is untrue given their underlying skills and unsubstantiated given it is their role to complete an algorithm”.”

If you're at a bit of a loose end this weekend, why not click this way and enjoy a random feature on my site? I've written almost 600 articles covering games on 42 different formats, so I'm sure you'll find something you'll like! kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com?random

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

As it's Valentine's Day I thought I'd share this guide for a game I love, in the hope it'll help you love it too :D kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com/2020/05/05/a...

This sounds like a great resource for board game design folks!

Unpopular opinion: you should care for our rights because we are people, not because we’re the first step for them to attack your rights.

Found when sorting an old drive. I still, very occasionally, say 'not many badgers in the House of Lords' and this is why:

i’m gonna just watch this at least once a day and i recommend everyone do the same

BREAKING NEWS: CDC orders mass retraction and revision of submitted research across all science and medicine journals. Banned terms must be scrubbed. Goes beyond MMWR +other CDC pubs. Applies to research already submitted to top medical journals. Take a look. open.substack.com/pub/insideme...

men, listen the fuck up. one of the most loving things you can do for your partners and families is take care of yourself. Make that doctor's appointment you've been putting off NOW. Start therapy NOW. Get your shit sorted out.

I've watched this video maybe 20 times in the last day

You can basically find-replace most of the terms in this article and it applies to everything from the games industry to book publishing and beyond. It's a problem across EVERYTHING right now. We need people who understand their business back in charge, not just people who understand "business".

UK FOLKS! I know of two full-time salaried roles in tabletop that will soon be open for: - Editor - Games Developer Ideally based in/willing to move to Nottingham, UK. And I've been asked for recommendations! I'll be prioritising marginalised folks, so please: DM me for details, comment and tag!

"This includes anonymised NHS data, which will be available for “researchers and innovators” to train their AI models." NHS research teams having to jump through hoops to use data they already have access to, only for commercial business to be given free access? Bullshit.

Move Christmas to January. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

This is why I think it's important to say 'generative AI' or 'genAI' etc when complaining about fully automated luxury plagiarism machines. A lot of AI and machine learning is good! It benefits genAI companies and enthusiasts if, when you say 'AI sucks', they can pretend you mean this stuff too.

Morning! LET'S GO!

Finally added a profile pic. Need to try Tintin + beard to be a bit more up to date.

this is great – i was still gaming on an Amstrad CPC until 1995, despite being a 16-bit era kid i never owned a home console until i got an N64 (a long pocket money save alongside my brother). My sense of nostalgia for the Mega Drive/SNES is very much relishing quick bursts bsky.app/profile/feli...

Popeye and Tintin have officially entered the public domain.

I had no idea Sega owned Angry Birds. Since 2023

i'd watch a series on this...a bizarre serious-yet-not adventure with this lil kid lmao
