Very interesting and relevant post. Thank you M. Snyder.

Huge mistake IMO: they didn't say "thank you" to JD Vance and Dear Leader Donald J Trump.

Take care Mira, that's the most important

Most of the phosphate, heavily used by US farmers, comes from Canada. The very same farmers - mostly in Red States - that were hit hard by the US-China trade war during its 1st mandate. Oh wait: did he ALSO announced increased tariffs with China? That won't end well for the US farmers...

As a European, a French, I am deeply grateful. I've always had the greatest respect for your country. Now I miss you even more. Thank you.

Smart and so accurate. Thank you.

You're absolutely right, I'm French! :) And you?

I agree. And also, I would say: urgently increase our defense manufacturing capabilities. There have been progress for sure, but it's still not up to our needs.

Yes, the "RealPolitik" is what led us to accept to close our eyes and do so much business with russia. And what we see nowadays is that EU (Europe in general) has to assert its values, and what we represent in contrast to other "big players". And it's not just about economics IMHO.

I agree with you: they are the most exposed, and among the best supporters of Ukraine. And yes, I would have liked to have, for example, one person representing them. This would have been a good message: we care about everyone, even the smaller countries.

I think that Starmer had a video call with them yesterday. At least, it was announced 2 days ago.

Thanks. Yes, nothing concrete, and I agree NATO stays the #1 possibility. But for example, we saw declarations recently in France about a possible shift in the way we could integrate our nuclear arsenal into a EU force. It's still not a consensus in EU, but the idea seems to gain momentum.

Beyond the strict support to Ukraine, we hear a lot these days about a possible future "European Defense Coalition", composed not only of EU countries, but also UK. Are there talks in Norway about integrating such a structure?

You? A traitor? No, absolutely not! Someone who loves his country. As a European, I see you standing for what, I believe, are the true - fundamental - values: the ones I respect, the ones I live for, the ones that can unite us. Deepest respect from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

Thank you for this very interesting thread. And as a European, I fully agree to your last post: "It is time to act accordingly. This is our responsibility and legacy." Our identity, our credibility, our future, are being defined now.

comment in response to post
