It’s so incredibly rare that I feel proud of a Democratic politician, but today Janet Mills made it on to that short list. #seeyouincourt

The governor of Maine, who just told Trump, on video, "see you in court."

President Donald Trump had a terse confrontation with Maine’s Democratic Governor Janet Mills over his efforts to bar transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports. “See you in court.”

Governor Mills of Maine has more courage than every single GOP politician in USA. More of this please, Trump is a f’n coward, stand up to him. Stand up for USA. F*ck MAGA.

I want to salute the Governor of Maine Janet Mills who, in that room with a raging Trump and silent complicitors, stood her ground and said, “see you in court!” Maine residents, show your support for your Gov for standing up for your independence.

Angus King tells Senate colleagues, ‘We’ve got to wake up.’

I heard the NEA is only considering proposals related to 1776 & the USA’s 250th birthday & I was feeling intensely patriotic, so I’m printing these really big posters inspired *directly* by the Founding Fathers The cut was carved from the masthead of a 19th century newspaper

Meanwhile in Europe

Tired of the “never coming back from this in our lifetimes” nonsense. South Korea, Brazil, Eastern Europe, Mexico were all effectively dictatorships within a life time (and most within my life time) and have all have democracy now.

We need to start recognizing Republican Nazism as an existential threat to our nation.

I'm sorry but I'm just not going to be cowering in fear of these clowns. They suck and they are cruel but they are not God.

It takes a lot of emotional energy to remain principled in this hellscape dunnit

A poem about the workplaces we love and the people coming for them:

TOMORROW: Ask our experts anything. Leah and Ezra will host their weekly discussion on the Musk-Trump Administration and we want your questions. RSVP now and let us know what you would like to talk about tomorrow afternoon: indivisible.zoom.us/...

Trump’s fascists really don’t want you to see or share this video from Rep. @aoc.bsky.social’s Know Your Rights webinar.

Hamas offers handover of all hostages to Israel if next phase of ceasefire agreed

Shah says he made the decision to leave the federal agency independently. He says he's uncertain what his next career step will be, but he and his family plan to move back to Maine.

If you don't see what you want or like, make your own thing.

I grew up in punk so I am legitimately shocked that so many people in charge of shit are such absolute weenies. A bunch of computer nerds and 80s movie villains say that something should be some way and you roll over and do it? Tell them to get fucked and keep doing your good work.

History: “Eventually the incompetent fascists invariably lose power and then society recovers in a new and stronger way” Me: “Oh, cool, so what has to happen for the spell to be broken??” History: “mmmm…well, that part is less encouraging.”

This is why I think both the material and ideal conditions aligned during the George Floyd protests that made them the biggest in US history: unemployment was 25% and we had a relatively robust social safety net in place to cover all the job losses. What happens w/ high unemployment and no net?

With lots of good suggestions, Anna updated their flier. Feel free to use it in your communities.

“Democrats seem to be waiting for Trump, Musk, and MAGA to naturally become unpopular, instead of working overtime to make them unpopular. We can’t wait. We need a unified, aggressive, and creative opposition in this country.” Read more from @leahgreenberg.bsky.social and @ezralevin.bsky.social. 👇

It is remarkably difficult to find the right level of awareness of the current chaos that allows me to still function day to day without ignoring my larger civic responsibilities re: holding elected officials accountable for their (in)actions.

I am part of the 25%. The lifestyle change is worth it. This is the way…

I'm a scientist because 52 years ago the National Science Foundation supported me, as a high school student, to do real research at a university summer science program. The destruction of US science by Trump and the Republicans today will weaken the country for decades.

Good morning. It's Wednesday and here's a look at some of the stories in the news: A freeze on federal agriculture funds is being felt by Maine farmers.

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.

The SAVE Act will require voters to provide unnecessary documentation to vote. This bill would make voting harder for people of color, women, and low-income people — groups of people who already face more difficulties at the polls.

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

"Our bottom line: We don’t want billionaires snooping in our personal and financial information, and we don’t want a government of, by, and for the richest people in America."

Since the next step for people like Trump is to blame the consequences of his actions on others, the most effective response to people like this is "It sounds like they lied to you." You can't turn these people into overnight liberals; you *can* shake their trust in the people who deceived them.

Measles high infection rate is the reason we have not yet been able to eradicate it. That rate means you need a very high vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. It is possible, but not with current levels of institutional distrust.

It is true that grifters and kooks introduced some unreasonable language and norms into liberal spaces, that you can find examples of this going back decades, even during the Civil Rights Movement, and that centrists intentionally sensationalizing this over the last decade has damaged the country.

TLDR: AOC and her office have been SO GOOD at educating her (undocumented) constituents about their rights that 🧊 has struggled to round people up. The thumb huffing and puffing is mad that she's good at her job. Community is the antidote to this divisive chaos.

Amen.

The thing with bullies is that they’re only powerful in their little spheres where no one pushes back on their behavior. Put them in another setting, speak out against them, and the facade crumbles. They’re weak.

There's a sense that people are feeling a little less fearful and that the lethargy is slowly receding. I think anti-fascist momentum will build.

"[Issue x] is a distraction!" is a corrosive outlook. All outrages are important to fight. Nobody can fight them all, but together we can cover them all. You telling somebody who is fighting an issue that you aren't fighting that what they're doing is a distraction is a distraction. Stop.

Hey hey, it's your accountabilibuddy, Vicky, wondering if you've taken a material step today toward mutual aid and building power. There's gonna be a fascist coup going on whether or not you post about it, so log-off, and do something to make sure you're ready to survive, to fight, tow in

Recently, Google downloaded an app called Android System SafetyCore on countless devices without user consent. I was one of them. The app allegedly scans your photos for nudity. In light of the legislation to ban porn, this sneaky app feels like a Trojan Horse. www.protectstar.com/en/blog/andr...
