Ok I need the equivalent areas in the Seattle metro. Granite falls? Sultan? Spanaway? Enumclaw?

Exactly. Taxes are not why people (or even corporations) move away. It's often just an empty threat to try and get themselves out of rightful taxation.

conservatives are beginning to publicly workshop their rehabilitation of jeffery epstein lol

the reason all of this “wealth exodus” shit is always overblown is that rich people like living in cool places they will whine, they will complain, they will throw more money than they’re being taxed at reactionary causes but at the end of the day they like living in NYC and aren’t leaving

The discourse of these two last cursed days can be essentially summed up as "is it legitimate to coddle the feeling of white Americans that they are under attack for short term tactical gain," and my honest to god answer is absolutely fucking not.

This is a great analogy cause fear of cities is often a reaction to phantom boogeymen conjured up by folk wisdom

Starting today's (unrelated) public safety meeting, Councilmember Bob Kettle is saying he met with young people and the young girls he spoke to were traumatized by riding on the buses and being "accosted by ... men." He's blaming this on a lack of security on Metro.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

"I'm in miami bitch" his so different if it's women doing it

It's kind of weird that we have atompunk, and even retrofuturist versions of the 80s and 90s, but we just kinda weirdly skipped retrofuturist late 60s and 70s stuff.

thinking about happier things, I think "the last goodbye" would work well as a 50s/early 60s style cover, and I'd love hearing it in a season of fallout

I'm in this boat. Bought a $343k house in 2020 at 4.125% with down payment assistance. After insurance rate increases, we're paying a bit over $2500 a month (at times, it was a low as a bit under $2200). We've paid off... I want to say $31k?

Have any of you ever seen rhetoric that compares autistics to addicts?

The plot of twin peaks in the place twin peaks was filmed

what people seem to believe is that there is a large number of criminal, layabout immigrants who can be easily found and deported. they support doing so snd are dismayed by the deportation of otherwise law abiding people. the problem is that the criminal group is imaginary!
