Medical debt= leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States.
Solution (?)
1) Amend constitution to include a base level of guaranteed right to free healthcare for all citizens
2) Single payer system, with privatized option**I see you, capitalists ;)

How many physicians are in your organization? Also, do you have a survey or polling data from physicians to understand better their views on Medicare for All?

Please keep posting about this! I would like to understand this perspective more. But in more simple language please.

The VA, by far, has become the best free healthcare system in the country for comprehensive healthcare. Thank you for what you do!

Politicians in the US (especially right leaning) heavily avoid the topic, which means less coverage on the news and less awareness from the public.

**many physicians in the United States**

This is not a very well known fact, but many physicians oppose universal healthcare (especially older, right leaning ones). The more we understand what weāre up against, the better will be able to resist and fight for what should be a basic right.

Great read! Not sure of who the intended audience for this would be as it appears pretty nuanced. If you can condense message into more brief and āattention grabbingā posts, it will surely resonate with the general public.

Imagine being a VA physician and not only being asked to justify your work, but support staff around you are being let go and/or resigning due to this nonsense. Those who ultimately suffer the most are the veterans.

Unfortunately our elected leaders are not savvy enough to respond to this type of chaos and bad actors. Hopefully I can be proven wrong.

Itās just about rhetoric, itās about how, where, when and who to be engaging with. We need competent, likable and accomplished professionals in their distinctive fields engaging heavily with right leaning platforms, ASAP.

Itās not that difficult to critique medications with minimal clinical effectiveness (such as SSRIs), but critics should be well informed with their critiques. Any narrative about meds causing mass shootings needs to be met with a clear and consistent response by the profession.

I think having credible well spoken, relatable professionals to combat misinformation on specifically right wing (or major media) platforms is a great idea.

2) despite generally agreeing with this sentiment, I donāt understand how it helps us move forward given current circumstances (?)

Very interesting article, thank you! I think an underlying assumption (?) is that this strategy would require a majority of doctors to be committed to this strategy. Unfortunately,Iāve seen too many physicians who donāt care much about public health, reproductive care and the ārightā to healthcare.

Iām all about holding dems (specifically DNC) accountable but I donāt agree that Dems focused on identity politics/culture wars, this last election right wing media with its billionaires (with Trump, Rogan, Musk) politicized culture war BS for their own benefit! Hold the right accountable as well!

Not sure about a specific answer, but whatever it is has to involve the media.
