If even a quarter of you who whine about how terrible Democrats are actually had the courage to run for office I would take some of these criticisms more seriously but you won’t ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Less talking, more action.

The number of people who respond to this with “filibusters do nothing” or “they have to vote no!” makes me think that way too many people do not understand current Senate rules.

what’s the point of access journalism if you don’t use your access to do journalism

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from canceling citizens’ SSNs

The US deports a foreign national to South Sudan, a country that he does not come from. When South Sudan refuses, US cancels ALL VISAS from South Sudan. South Sudan relents, accepts non-citizen in an attempt to calm the US, but visas are still in limbo. GOT IT. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Embarrassing behavior from a former journalist who is now president of the university that administers the Pulitzer Prizes

Wow. This is the full document submitted by Rubio against Mr. Khalil invoking INA 237(a)(4)(C). The standard in immigration court is extremely deferential; a judge must accept this so long as it is “facially reasonable and bona fide.” But this is so threadbare that it might not even satisfy that.

This lady is a GD hero. This is what can happen if we try to give a shit about eachother. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

She wrote an op-ed in her college paper. That's the pretext.

It finally happened. The first documented case of a public school teacher being fired for referring to a student by their chosen name, instead of their dead name, as required by a law signed by Ron DeSantis in 2023: www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...

Now what happens when people realize international students paying full tuition is sustaining cash flow?

Pretty much the same amount Republicans promise to “save” in this budget is what the IRS could have collected from tax cheats and wealthy/sophisticated filers WITHOUT RAISING A SINGLE TAX. But instead somebody somewhere will lose out on healthcare. Stupid and cruel.

Big Law has failed to stand up to Trump and now infosec is following suit.

What a grim paragraph www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

NEWS: Chief Justice John Roberts *is* aware there is a matter before him about a man who was improperly sent to a prison in El Salvador. Per the court, Roberts has denied the request from Kilmar Abrego Garcia's lawyers to file a sur-reply — a reply responding to DOJ's reply — in the matter.

The fear among academics and lawyers now talking on the record on just about any topic that involves the federal government or the White House is really extraordinary and worrisome, and getting worse, it seems to me, every week. Dissent by an establishment figures becoming verboten in the US

Breaking NYT: The Trump admin is taking drastic steps to pressure certain immigrants to "self-deport" by effectively canceling the Social Security numbers they had lawfully obtained, according to docs NYT reviewed and interviews with 6 people familiar with the plans. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

Again, you can tell who the Good Guys are because they’re the ones getting caught sneaking into elementary schools, lying that the kids’ parents sent them. bsky.app/profile/prem...

The cowards at Paul Weiss own this most of all, but they are joined in disgrace by Milbank, Willkie Farr, and Skadden. Trump suggested there are other firms that have agreed to debase themselves, but did not reveal the names.

when rfk makes america healthy again, the children afflicted by sickle cell will just be sent to the labor camps…err…work farms where they can recover

Members of Congress should never be allowed to trade stocks. Period.

NEW from me: I wrote about the utter fucking insanity of a pro-Israel group accusing Ms Rachel, the singer of “Icky Sticky Bubble Gum” and “Hop Little Bunnies,” of being a pro-Hamas propagandist www.thecut.com/article/ms-r...

For almost 2 weeks, Badar Khan Suri was kept in a room without a bed & with TV blaring 21 hrs/day. He was given used underwear & red uniform "usually reserved" for "high security" detainees. Not allowed to spend more than 2 hrs/week outside dorm. His little son has stopped talking in his absence.

Look, I cannot be the only academic who was bullied in the 1980's by these sort of people. Appeasement did not work in junior high, and it is not going to work now. They will always take more. Their joy is in the taking.

Trump has signed an executive order targeting Susman Godfrey, the law firm that helped Dominion Voting Systems obtain its $787 million settlement from Fox for the network's 2020 election lies.

He just testified all morning about the reasons why the tariff policy was going to make America great. Then he checked his phone and realized everything he just said was canceled on Truth Social.
