Honest question: is there anything good to do with canned green beans? (A bunch get donated to a local micropantry—agricultural surplus?—but no one takes them)

(Imagining Hemmer composing an As Per My Previous Subspace Communication message to Utopia Planitia Shipyard while tweaking something inaccessible)

Encountering Hemmer in Strange New Worlds as an earlier chief engineer who was also blind made me wonder—is Engineering the most accessible section of Starfleet for a blind person? Is it that way because early people like Hemmer deliberately built in accessibility features they wanted?

I’ve had mixed luck with it, but it’s pretty easy and low-cost to try and you can do it now.

How ridiculous is the ring willing to get? Braided into some body hair, balanced on the tip of a horn, made into a body piercing… “I can work with this!!”

I’d forgotten that! I guess it would do no good to glom onto a hobbit-sized person and then fall off and get lost on some forest floor indefinitely

Ms. Marvel has the pure of heart thing going for her, absolutely, but for pop culture knowledge I would pick Aru Shah who is canonically a LOTR fan and has a hero team support system to get her thru it

I used to display library books on “why bad things happen” and dealing with feelings after mass shootings. A few years after Sandy Hook I realized kids and their parents weren’t seeking them out anymore. I realized young parents don’t have any memory of the years when we had an assault weapons ban

Last night , at a concert, I heard the response: “No, man— but all the same, we like to fool around!” Creating pretend clergy just to troll them…
