Agreed! I don’t regret it one bit, even if it was a massive shock!

She’s going to be just fine, just not quite guide dog caliber anymore. 💜

I’m in the exact same boat! Good to know I’m not the only one. I’ve been purging like crazy, and I curate pretty carefully, but every once in a while one sneaks through. I don’t even feel bad unfollowing if that’s your marketing plan. Like, seriously? We’ve had *maybe* one interaction.

Oh, this is 100% a joke about my own insecurities. I have 0 problem smashing that unfollow button. 😂

I love that you have several dedicated spaces! Does my couch, my car, and the floor at the ballet studio count? 😅

1. Prefer one at a time, but the reality right now is 2-3 cooking in different stages.
2. Background music, yes, but nothing complicated or with lyrics I enjoy. I get distracted. Lots of instrumental pieces.
3. Afternoon!
4. Wherever I am…usually at kids’ activities!
5. Books, but websites more!

I think I’ve finally hit a bit of a tipping point where I have multiple projects going at once, so if I need a break, I can switch gears, but usually I’m just mad scrambling on the thing I’m working on to get it done by deadline, then turning to the next thing in line and doing the same!

Feeling the saggy middle comment right now!

The words (mostly) come easily, scenes come fully formed, I can see the trajectory of the story and points to hit to get there. It’s still work, because I can’t see everything, but I have the high points and a good sense of the low points.

I’m more of a plotter, but your stubborn comment resonated with me. I’m a front-to-back writer, so I just keep plowing through until it’s done. Anything can be fixed in revisions!

Finished? Died on sub, so that was a pretty clear sign. 😅 I’ve shelved a CNF essay that I used to process my own feelings and decided didn’t need to be in the world. Not sure my current project is going to work, so I guess I’ll be figuring out whether I need to let it go soon…

I love that you give yourself permission to move on. I haven’t been able to do that well as yet, though I want to!

I back up and write in a new direction. It might be a scene or a chapter. I’ve always been able to unstick that way, though I have a particularly nasty block going with a new project. Not sure if I haven’t gone back far enough or if I’m heading in the wrong direction.

I’d never run into this before, and then I had an idea a few months ago so fully formed in my brain, I didn’t even write it down because “what’s the point? I already lived it in my head!”

I started because I had stories I wanted to tell. I think I continue now because I feel like I have stories that need to be heard. Things I wish people had said to me in hard times. Ways I hope my words will help others feel seen and known and have hope.

Oh, I work with Guide Dogs, based in Marin, in San Rafael! I end up down there about once a year!

Late to the party, but I’m Rebecca from Seattle. Currently working on developmental edits for my summer debut!

That’s such a bummer. I hired an editor for a previous project and was not thrilled, either. Don’t think I’ll ever do that again. This one is from my publishing house and I’m really enjoying working with her.

Right? He’s such a he falls first, he falls hardest, and he’s got so much ground to make up because she HATES him, and he deserves it, but he’s ALWAYS loved her.
