“RESIST. DO NOT COMPLY WITH THEIR ILLEGAL MANDATES.”Judge Ortiz emailed her EEOC colleagues after the anti-trans EO. She told me, “The unknown was not as scary as being complicit and not speaking up. I can exist on cornflakes and community at the end of the day if it means that my soul is intact.”

A WORD.

Apparently, the mediocre-est administration of all time is gonna make America great

when you roll over for the fascists in charge to keep your federal funding

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."

It's pretty cool that Eater put together resources for restaurants about how to handle ICE raids

Trump’s executive orders banning DEI have been blocked. www.advocate.com/news/judge-b...

"The opposition is the majority."

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

it’s comforting to imagine that nothing could’ve been done to prevent our current disaster, or at least that nobody could’ve known. but the truth is, since jan 7th, 2021, many people have been loudly yelling that we could end up right where we are now if the people in power didn’t change course

I'm sorry but I'm just not going to be cowering in fear of these clowns. They suck and they are cruel but they are not God.

Anyway, tomorrow is another day to fight back. Let's do that.

the whole 2020-2024 era of “dems shouldnt aggressively use the levers of power bc then republicans will do the same thing when theyre elected” sure looks dumb as dog shit right now huh

Hey fellow cis folks, this is an easy one to show your allyship. We are still, for now, a nation of laws with a democratic voice. We will use it until they take it from us.

Never in the history of bumper stickers has a bumper sticker played such a critical role in a car owner’s public communication portfolio.

I think we’re up to like….9 or 10 Nurembergs.

Listen I know shit sucks but PLEASE find the things that make you happy and keep doing them. It is not frivolous. It is how you survive.

Political liberalism has a lot of flaws but one of the cool things about it is how it's constructed around the insight that monarchy is a fundamental affront to human dignity 👍

Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes. You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment. My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc. www.reddit.com/r/Passports/...

Declaring yourself a monarch because you hate the subway

Works as advertised

In my city there is one cybertruck and one DIY parody of a cybertruck and the parody truck has become a local celebrity. Meanwhile, I always wish I had some rotten eggs to throw at the tesla whenever I see it.

I keep seeing this. Guys, their literal job is to figure out what to do. They are not helpless even if they are not the majority. I really hope we can stop treating some of the most powerful people in the world as helpless and without sentience.

A thing I wish I could teach people is that the vast majority of very rich people are deeply stupid. They did not get where they are because of ingenuity or talent. They got there because of compound interest on hereditary wealth and being tax cheats.

Roses are red Our resolve hasn't faltered

People who write about "this is the wrong fight to pick," never ever actually fight for anything. Feel free to ignore them.

ok but like, how are we getting any work done. i'm trying to tippy tap away at my silly little keyboard but every fifteen minutes or so the new stupidest thing anyone's ever done happens.

if you too want to know the joys of walking around in a circle, talking **** about your biggest opps, a picket line might be the place for you

It’s very interesting how media outlets like 404 and Wired who do tech and not DC cocktail party circuit slop have covered the Musk angle best because their guiding light isn’t getting a ticket to next weeks book release party in Georgetown

“MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw” Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start

I am going to be so pissed if--after everything--I do, in fact, die of dysentery.

Here is the pre-RFK vaccination schedule for your kids. Please download it before he is confirmed and changes/deletes it. Give it to your pediatrician and say this is the schedule you want your kids on. Making this my pinned post.

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

Yes, we let a rich idiot nobody elected destroy the entire government, but it was that or make rich people pay taxes so that poor people could go to the doctor

Crucial thing you must do right now is strengthen and expand your community. Serve together. Try a new activity. See each other in person. Over on the other site I am continually struck by how the rabid intensity does not actually reflect community or connection. Only way we get through this.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

Dear Fellow People of Any Privilege especially being seen as socially acceptable visibly WE MUST WEAPONIZE THE INNER KAREN against the fascists. Ask to speak with America's manager goddammit.

America: Ends democracy, installs a totalitarian dictator, commences genocide. Every mainstream American pundit in unison: Why, I know who's to blame... The victims!

this attitude — paperwork is for sissies, real wars are won by Big Strong Men — is traditionally a harbinger of ruinous for defeat for everyone who holds it

In the tradition of “not all” discourse (with just a souçon of “nothing only white men like is cool”) an important read for all y’all “not all Christian” types” and everyone else too. From the great @www.bugbeardispatch.com

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m starting to think the only thing that kept the planes from crashing before was diversity.

I didn’t know I could love Roxane Gay more but she knows that The Core is spectacular. I won’t be taking wrong opinions about that star studded pot of cinematic gold, thank you.

Anyone who has studied the fascism, violence and pogroms of the post-reconstruction era of America would know that white humiliation / Black progress has long been this country’s ticking time bomb. The historical parallels are 1920s Oklahoma, not 1930s Germany. But this history is often buried.
