Yeah, they captured magic with this one… something they struggle to do now days. (I may also be biased as I saw it when I was a kid 😝, nostalgia glasses and all…)

I’ll see if I can find out…

Honestly, this looks like what AI comes up with when I ask for an 80s computer.

I have this, one of the few Famicom carts in my collection. It is interesting, pretty fun - though difficult.

Oof, that’s a rough looking game.

Agreed. There is really nothing wrong with the game, quite nearly perfect IMO.

1. Hard to say for sure, I was probably 5... but good chances it was something like Pitfall or Astrosmash on the Intellivision.
2. The original Legend of Zelda
3. I am pumped for the next mainline Zelda game... Also, I play a lot of 7 Days to Die, I am excited for a follow up.

.. Or perhaps it replaced by the next generation's 'culture'. Maybe it is out there and I just don't see it now? I do enjoy going to local conventions (video games, movies, etc...) and I do find people still celebrating this stuff. But, it feels sort of hidden away now.

... like ThinkGeek were feeling really intune with the community. I connected with tons of people on Twitter, other fans like me and small business owners finding an audience with their stuff. I feel like all of that is gone now, it was probably oversaturation by corporations and media companies...

Note: I streamed, just to get my streaming setup working again - but no mic turned on this time. Just gameplay.

If you want to read more about it, you can check out my game design document here: docs.google.com/document/u/0...

I am so sorry, my heart goes out for you. Stay strong.

Oh, and I didn't say it - but you can play the game in your browser if you wanted to test it out!

That is probably a factor too.

I think they may also be leaning into their iteration practices their handhelds did. The difference overall between original DS and final 3DS is not that much.

I totally get your point. The unique “gimmick” each of their consoles introduces is always interesting! I wonder if they are trying to avoid another WiiU at some level.

Listening now. Regarding the Switch 2, I know it seems very similar. But, one might argue that there wasn’t a lot wrong with the OG. Why make wild changes for the sake of changes. It just needs some beefier hardware.

You could also approach from the other angle. They basically made the best hybrid video game console/handheld ever. To follow up, they are doing everything that worked well and wrapping it in better more up to date technology.

Oh yeah - lots of places. They used to have a couple arcades at the drug store my Grandma shopped at. Pizza places used to always have them, even if it was a single cabinet. Family trips to cabins/resorts often had a game room, something I'd look forward to.

I totally understand what you mean (I think...). I go through waves of confidence in my abilities as a developer. I do it in my day job and often feel totally in control, then other days I am doubting everything I do. This also extends into my gamedev efforts too.

Considering nothing has really changed with the process, I’d assume all the original capital stormers should do it again! Oh wait, since their candidate won, it is legit this time.

Lots of ways to play it these days, you should check it out!
I’d recommend reading the manual as well as considering a guide to help get you going. Even just look at old Nintendo Power guides should help.

Some of it, like that Mega Controller, I am not sure I have ever seen. I wonder if it all was ever made.

Yeah, it is my favorite MK game! At a minimum it needs a remaster.
