True, but the guy who talks about Jesus A LOT in the Bible talks about penises A LOT. But I think it’s like today: Folks want to focus on genitals, not all the times God, Jesus, and the guy who talked about penises ALSO talks about loving people in poverty.

If it helps, I assigned that book in a class and got a whole bunch of Southern pastors angry about neoliberalism and asking for classes to learn more about economic theory.

Have you read How Much for Just the Planet yet? That is also an oddball favorite.

I did not, thanks for that! I also loved The Romulan Way and Doctor’s Orders!

I really hate the “why aren’t we protesting” thing bc yeah, protest alone doesn’t work. It “works” as the whitecap on a wave of a shit ton of strategic organizing that includes education, policy, etc. toward real political change. All that is happening, but it’s slow & you have to look for it.

I hate that being realistic and strategic gets read as defeatist. Planting seeds for gardens we probably won’t harvest has always been the reality of Justice work. Thanks for holding forth!!
