Ben Affleck's Holden McNeil goatee‘s the answer but I'm not sure what the question is. Politics. Humor. Great at @ replies, not great at regular posts.

And please don't take this as me trying to defend capitalism or not understanding your thoughts about Democrats not really being left or center on a political spectrum. It's neither. It's just hard to ignore an ahistorical statement like that.
comment in response to post
I don't want to argue about this back and forth in someone else's mentions, but calling capitalism "a compromise with feudal monarchs and lords" is just flat false and ahistorical. Even mercantilism couldn't be accurately described like that, let alone capitalism.

While I don't know if I'd go so far to call the DNC right wing ... ... I'm all for both parties as is, as well as all members of the right wing, to fall off and explode into flames.

I didn't see the context of Ukraine not doing what Russia wanted them to, only his quote about they "started" the war.
comment in response to post
It's not even the skirt example. It's just a flat out lie. The skirt example would be if he said "well, Russia invaded you because you were doing this, this, and that". Trump is just flat out lying, just parroting the Kremlin lie for the past couple of years.

Can't find the original poster who said this but... I really hope America is like the upside-down Toronto plane. Everyone survives, but the right wing falls off and explodes into flames.

Trying to wrap my head around this. Made me think of loose pickles. If you have never seen comedian Josh Johnson telling his 8 minute story about a loose pickle in a gas station in Kentucky, then you haven't experienced comedy to the degree every human should. www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCrin...

I hear you, but there are literally dozens of procedural things and request powers that do exist that could slow down confirmations, require responses from officials, and make the Trump Executive Office do things to react. Mostly but not completely from the Senate. Almost none are happening.

When there's a serial killer out there, and the cops aren't trying to stop him, you don't get mad at the serial killer, you get mad at the cops. We don't expect anything better from GOP. We know they will do horrid things. We do from Democratic Party. We expect them to try to stop horrid things.

Her lack of ability to act like a human being in this situation is perfect for her screen name of Rachel Deckard. Although, she misspelled Rachel instead of Rachael.

To be fair, what platform is better for them running ads showing their game is one thing when in reality it's something wildly different?

My "Not involved in a scam" T-shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt.

Personally, I don't know on what criteria you'd put them as less reliable than the United States in 2025.

India and Pakistan are able to maintain peace because of Mutually Assured Destruction, so I think the way to make this work is to give the Palestinians nuclear weapons.

The question is, what current U.S. Democratic Senator describes these 3 based solely on these descriptions. My off-the-cuff attempt: 25. Bail = Warren 24. Saw = Sanders 20. Mon - Schumer

The problem is Cooper, when they don't find obvious targets, they'll make up things about people and target them so they have a target.

They'll get my vote in any general election over a Republican, but not in the primaries, and not my time and money, if they aren't actually doing anything to use Congressional power. I'm just done with people (good people!) who roughly believe what I do but are sitting around talking during this.
comment in response to post
I will be contacting my Representative and 2 Senators, and be telling them I expect constant action the next 2-4 years, or I expect my money and time will go to ANYONE legitimate running in the next Democratic primaries. I know they have limited power, but they have some (especially Senators).

Modern Smartphones 2007/2008. But yeah, since then, not anything lifechanging IMO. Even if something like AI or Quantum Computing becomes viable, this era right now won't be viewed as when it really started, just like we don't view Smartphones starting in the early 90s with IBM proto ones.

These are the same people who believe by voting 3rd party or staying home, that the Democratic Party that drives them so crazy will change and stop taking their vote for granted. Like history hasn't shown opposite dozens of times. The DNC seems to prefer to be the opposition party, not have power.
comment in response to post
We have people in this country who believe the same as us on how it should ideally be, but believe the concepts of incremental progress and voting based on harm reduction are ridiculous, and believe a vote for a candidate means you support everything about them. It's wild sometimes.

I.Q. gets eliminated for being an Ivy League elitist. Kid Vid, yep, he was once a liberal, but got radicalized by the YouTube algorithm and now constantly quotes Jordan Peterson and was a main fixture in harassing women and complaining about declining sexuality in video games during GamerGate.

Obviously Buttigieg is far and away the more competent person. Rhodes scholar. Harvard graduate. Served in U.S. Navy. Worked on Kerry campaign. Calling Sean Duffy the Real World guy is like calling Donald Trump the Apprentice guy. The evil and incompetence are separate from their reality TV past.
comment in response to post
Ok, I agree on the description, but let's be clear the Buttigieg became Secretary after 8 years as mayor of a city of 100,000 people ... and Sean Duffy became Secretary after 8 years of serving in Congress, and 8 years before that as a District Attorney. Buttigieg easily has the lesser resume.

So then the non-base public will be outraged solely at him, right? RIGHT?! It'll make it easier for them to win at midterms* if all the negative initiation is on Trump, right? RIGHT?! *the assumption that there will 100% definitely be midterms and a functioning Democracy is never mentioned by them

Besides the obvious correct "this is who Dems are" stuff others are posting, there's also the rationalization that by staying out of the spotlight and letting it all be about Trump and Republican majority, there's no blame attached to the intent. It's all on Trump (supposedly) if they are silent.

She's also right that there's a really good chance that America 40 years from now will still be like the America we know, and not the permanent end of our country as we know it. That said, how many harmed people there will be, should NOT be glossed over by finding solace in long term history.

This is also true for children ages 2 to 9. Our Chewy boxes usually eventually get recycled, but only after an excessive amount of coloring, cutting, and glittering. With an occasional use as a toboggan down a flight or two of stairs.

You know that whatever b.s. they spew in case hearings and written decisions, really all this is is making up excuses to ignore stare decisis. The amount of justification these bozos have written saying "well, we ignored stare decisis with Plessy & Brown, so we should ignore it here" is sickening.

I can't believe after all the emphasizing you gave me about New York lawyers knowing things, emphaiszing how NY is different, and me using New York government websites to refute your points, you think that linking a Federal website and an Oklahoma blogger means anything.

It seems you have this idea that if someone posts it on social media, or says it on a podcast, that they know what they're talking about.

You are convicted the minute the jury or judge has entered "guilty" in the record. You do not have a "judgement of conviction" until after sentencing. But you don't have to believe me. I'm just floored you're using debunked NY legal people and ignoring other NY legal people telling you opposite.
