I think the - I’ve only listened to a few QR’s but preferred your old stuff - is reason enough to block.
I thought it was in line with the other times you’ve covered this difficult subject. Delivered with kindness and empathy, to help progress the discussion, to inform and demystify.

Trump’s probably sat there squinting at his phone thinking dumb peasants can’t even spell winning properly.

Prominent members of the Achaean Research Group saw him as stickler for the rules, although clearly having been promoted far beyond his merit, he was nonetheless admired as a hard liner that relished in keeping all gatehouses free from murals or mosaics.

Seeing as he brought Greek mythology into this… Jenrick has the most ‘Head Trojan Gatekeeper’ vibes of the lot of them.

Parliament should go nowhere near this. They’ve already proved themselves to be woefully inept at addressing this matter and trans rights should not be allowed to be a political football for the ill informed to platform themselves for clicks.

The Daily Show is a real bastion of up to date palatable information during these arse clenching times.

I feel like we could all wait (a lot) longer between episodes in order to allow you more time with the roof garden.

That was me! Of all the beautifully insightful, delightfully witty and deeply informative messages I send in to James, I finally get one read out and it’s to steal someone else’s hard work.

The United Kingdom's Foreign Enlistment Act blocks citizens from joining foreign militaries fighting countries at peace with Britain.
There should be a ban.
Those found to have done so should be prosecuted upon return.
Any accused of committing war crimes should be sent to The Hague.

Two thing occurred to me this week.
1. This is clearly just a psyop by Alex to make us all listen to opera. I’m surprisingly into this.
2. There are no new stories. The Greeks beat us to it, and we’ve just been plagiarising them ever since.

While I understand the vigilante allure of Mangione, he’s ultimately a calculated murderer who shot an unarmed man in the back. This idolisation of an anti-hero doesn’t sit right with me, as much as I hate the US healthcare system of profiteering from suffering.

If every single law enforcement official in France and the EU got the Covid jab… then they can be remotely controlled by Bill Gates. Fact. Everyone knows Gates had a three way with the Macron’s on Epstein’s island. The evidence is there. Do your research.

Weirdly angered by how good Dyer was in Rivals. There he was this whole time, hiding in plain sight. Capable of range. Danny Dyer doing emotional range ffs. Doing depth. The most typecast one dimensional jobbing actor in the business.

For me, bad Labour on their worst day is still better than good Tories on their best day. I shudder to think what a state we’d be in if Sunak were still in charge.

They’re fucking it up something chronic, but the sentiment of your original post still stands.
It’s 9 months of a 5 year cycle, their comms are terrible and the quick wins and steady improvements aren’t cutting through against the weight of epic fails. Going to get worse before it gets better.

Childhood trauma of scrambled egg carbonara put me off tagliatelle, so flat pasta has either been pappardelle or linguine. Partial to a bucatini too if going long. Tube wise nothing smaller than rigatoni for maximum sauce catching capability, likewise large conchiglie. Orzo instead of risotto win.

This is gold. Starting coeliac diagnosis journey at 42 as a rabid consumer of gluten and mourning the end of my sourdough days. Never realised how floury a roast was until I couldn’t use it.

As disappointed as I am with labour, a £1500 increase in fees equates the NI increase for two staff at £20k pa. Seeing as nurseries have a staff to child ratio of 1:3, I’m pretty confident in calling this price increase out as gouging using the hike as cover.

After really welcoming the revitalisation of genre by ploughing through the Yellowstone/1880 something/1920 something, I’ve come to the conclusion that all the Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner stuff is unrelenting macho wank, and the only decent output was The English.

It’s almost like they see and hear public outrage about an event. Don’t talk about it either way at the time. In the background they quietly consult, formulate a plan, and then execute it once the pearl clutching and knee jerking has died down. Pretty sensible. Pretty fucking sensible.

Beginning to think the Prince Andrew interview was one hell of a career amplifying fluke, and that the art of strategic scrutinising interviewing is no longer on offer via any of the News Agents, replaced by lazy gotcha journalism which serves neither interviewer, interviewee, nor listener.

Didn’t the republicans ‘Rwanda’ the rules so that the entire duration of this congress is classed as ‘one day’ to avoid having to actually display evidence of a spine over the 14 day tariff debate. His ‘day’ could last for ages.

Books only tend to catch fire when in close proximity to fascists. We all know public transport is a woke WEF ruse concocted to impinge on civil liberties and the rights of hard working petrol huffing alphas, so never the twain shall meet.

There in lies the beauty of the MAGA mindset. The ability to believe diametrically opposed views concurrently. There can be no confusion when the fabric of your belief is made from the last thought you had based on the last thing you heard.

Some of the best Star Wars output. Dark, brooding undertones, deep and interesting characters, gripping slow burn, no light sabres, no ridiculously overstimulating space battles. Loved it.

It’s almost as if my last comment, essentially about not judging all women in politics as one and same, fell on deaf ears. It’s international women’s day. Stop negging on women. Chill the fuck out.
comment in response to

Past and current Tory leaders are not in any way a fair and reasonable representative of the majority of women in politics. Most Tory members see women as mothers or possessions, and have supported certain types of women because they are ultimately sad little boys who want to be told what to do.

With the pace of news at the moment it’s rare to have a ‘non-newsy’ call-in topic that stays with you, and this one has been barricaded in my brain all afternoon. The power of big violent men embracing their little selves to break the cycle of violence at home gives me hope.
