It's not a book, I just said I was working on it. (It's like 10000 words of junk, just something I used to hash out on the train to practice creative writing)

It's like jobseekers - if the mage guild finds you shunning work they're going to cut you off your stipend.

You laugh but can you imagine how embarassing it would have been for them if they could just axe-chop it all this time?

What has been the point of everything if we are going to give in to rank superstition such as this? Aren't we compelled to seeks the truth for the thruth's sake - what can be destroyed by the truth deserves to be destroyed and all that. How can we pretend a 12 year old could defeat two grown men???

Unfortunately I think there is always going to be a tradeoff between EU and international migration due to populist concerns, and given that choice I think I would pick international.
comment in response to post
That sounds like a long term impact if you ask me. Also while I'm with you that end of free movement to/from the EU is a big blow, the reality is that it hasn't actually affected the actual movement of people that much. Indeed immigration into the UK has never been higher.

I have my "Where are the weinersmiths" talk lined up for if you wver decide to do BAHfest after dark!

Measuring Brexit by short term impacts was always silly anyway. Like of course the inevitable disruption is worth considering, but those will inevitably be outwieghed by longer term impacts*. * I'm with you on these - bad but not disasterous. Just a bit silly overall.

Presumably evolution is able to favour a pretty intuitive understanding of basic physics since it's pretty consistent. But with how good we are at intuitively grasping all sorts of systems, I don't think that's all it is.

What that person meant (if you'll forgive the dig) is that you are leftist and "sane".

The prequel trilogy ends up getting a free pass on so many things by dint of having a clear narrative arc (though I rewatched TPM recently and by god the pacing is dogshit), and didn't really have a singular main character. But I think the ST kinda suffers from not having something similar.
comment in response to post
I think he was a good main characyer precisely because he was boring! He's kindof a lense into the universe for the viewer, and it's not really until later he gains any real agency. It gave a lot more brething room for the universe, rather than being focused on the character.

To be fair it's probably only about half that to 100%

Oh sorry I forgot, your bosses are doctors and they have no social lives other than playing golf and cheating on their wives.

No you're not invited, it would kill the vibe. It's like going to the bar with the boss. Sure he's a cool guy and all but you just have that sense of caution in the back of your mind. Much more fun to go with Samuel. He's not bery clever but he love to talk about boob.
