Is there any way Liverpool could insist on a guard of honor when we go there? We had to do the RVP/United guard of honor at the Emirates, so i am assuming Chelsea will have to do one. Depending on the CL games, I don't need a reminder how we did in the league this year.

Deadspin callback?
comment in response to post
All I care about is avoiding a guard of honor. I checked and the time we gave one to United, it was at the Emirates. No reason Chelsea shouldn't be required to do the same thing so we can avoid it at Anfield.

How we feeling about the match?

I'm not saying I'm rooting for PSG injuries, at this point...
comment in response to post
I was joking with a friend that I am rooting against every hamstring on that field.
comment in response to post
Exactly. A few less injuries for us (or a few more for them) and a few less awful reffing, which to be fair is maybe four points (or a few more unfair decisions to them), and we are in the lead.

I am assuming the "errors leading to goals" stat did not exist when VVD was Saliba's current age?
comment in response to post
I think sometimes he has too much belief in his close control.
comment in response to post
His close control is not quite at Jesus levels, but he can draw defenders and shoot or lay the ball off.

PSG are playing a team this weekend trying to get into the Champs League, so they can't roll over for that game. Palace could not care less about tomorrow's game. Inasmuch as that means we have a slightly easier week than them, I'll take it.

His support of Liverpool shining through.

The takes from all the former United players (Neville, Keene, Ferdinand) are going to be AMAZING.

(Jamie Carragher voice) We've talked so much about how they're missin a striker...

Watch the video. He is straight up trying to snap that dude's leg.
comment in response to post
Do we have a good at them at all or are we going to go full Man City away after the red card? Madrid's defense, notwithstanding its frailties, is still 4th best in La Liga and scoring a goal, on the break or otherwise, won't be easy.

The Intentional Guendouzzi transfer.

It's just so lazy. Waiving away season ending injuries to your number 1 and 2 strikers (not to mention Saka and Ode out for months) as if it's nothing. He knows full well how Liverpool would be doing without the equivalent players. Just lazy trolling.

"Kind of"?

Where are you seeing this?

And Emery with his axe to grind against Arsenal after he screwed everything up here? I'm really hoping for PSG.
comment in response to post
It's Chelsea-esque in its ineffectiveness. That said, Brighton have to still be 200m in the black given everyone they've sold.
comment in response to post
So don't. I am through CBS, the Arsecast, all youtube clips and now onto TalkSport. A day to remember!
comment in response to post
If we had paid 40m for him in January with this output, no one would be mad about it.
comment in response to post
I'm trying just to enjoy it, for now. Weird to know now that I will probably remember that game for the rest of my life. Headline is that everyone played really well. If we can get one goal in Madrid....I like our odds.
comment in response to post
Is that the math? There's a reason Opta says there's only a 2% chance that Arsenal win it, but if Liverpool draw/lose a couple in a row, we beat Everton, etc and pull within 6 points with 5-6 games to go, including the home match against Arsenal, it gets interesting.

Tarkowski clearly knew Exactly what he was doing, which you could see even at full speed.
comment in response to post
Ekitike in a better league and better numbers. And younger. And cheaper. Though this season could be a fluke; Hjoland type gamble.
comment in response to post
It's very likely we win nothing this year, but if we had signed some generic striker from (let's say the Bundeliga) and he scored the same number of goals and was single-handedly responsible for a win, we'd probably be ok with that. Hell, if Sterling was scoring these same goals, Arteta = genius.

I'm not sure Isak could get 500k per week outside Saudi, but he apparently on 140k per week now and his contract runs until 2028. At some point Newcastle are going to have to start paying him twice as much and he'll likely win no 'big' trophies there, or he'll have to move on to get more of both.

If you're taking questions, I'd like to know if there are any rumblings about a summer tour in the US.

Where is this streaming (I'm in the USA)?

I'd love to know if there is anyone at his age who has had a season like this in any of the big five league.

We were there. It was like an oven.

With all your years following the Cubs, I love that you get to do this.

Can Kavanagh and/or Gillet ref games for Arsenal in the future? On the USA broadcast, even Le Seux sounded embarrassed for them that they missed the handball and they cleared the stamp on Rice in about 5 seconds. You're not paranoid if they're really after you...
comment in response to post
Listen, if by some miracle they lose their next 2-3 games, the combination of falling out of champs league, losing the league cup and they may at least get a little nervous...

Irrespective of age, Reid and Pelosi (generally) showed that they were willing to throw down with the opposing party, draw a line in the sand, etc. Schumer (generally) has shown himself to be way more risk averse and way more milquetoast.

I mean, City mocked a team way more successful than they were via tifo and we saw how that worked out...

Arsenal beat PSG at home and Liverpool couldn't, Arsenal are (likely) going further than Liverpool in the Champions League. Arsenal having the better season?
comment in response to post
Kinda difficult for them to focus on the issues they prefer (how liberals are too woke, anti-semitic, etc) when the current president is currently setting fire to the entire system.
comment in response to post
That is true. Side note- I think most of the criticisms leveled at Arsenal are that pundits and fans of other teams think Arteta is too big for his britches. For me, he's not but the whining about how animated he is, his attitude, his management style etc all seems to be that he is not likeable.
comment in response to post
It's bizarre. They have a 32 year old that is not only going the full season without injury but is having maybe the best season ever, coupled with a little luck from refs and an excellent defense and just won't accept it. They feel like they have to make it Artetas fault.
comment in response to post
Or. OR. Maybe, just maybe, Liverpool fans are unwilling or unable to simply bask in the above average luck they have had this season in terms of injuries. We had it last year. We didn't dent it.
comment in response to post
Glad to see that even with the new book coming out, you have your priorities straight.

Craziness. A formerly midtable club reaps the benefits of Russian sportswashing for 15 years and wins a ton with crooked money. Americans come in an spend $1b and get them back to top 4ish. Now they're marching. What do they want? Abramovich? Their 1980's ownership? The pure entitlement of it all.
comment in response to post
I feel like 35g and 25a would be the best EPL season for any individual player. He would single-handedly make any team in the league AT LEAST mid table.
