Conan: You know, Anora is having a good night. That's great news. Two wins already. I guess Americans are excited to see somebody finally stand up to a powerful Russian.

This week also solidified for me just how strong an adaptation of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth Severance is shaping up to be.

I am also now almost positive the lapel pins in Severance are blood drips 🩸, not water drops 💧. But I could also be totally wrong, as this show as me theorizing something totally different each week.

I have not been able to do anything but think about that Severance episode since finishing it. Next week’s episode is only 37 minutes. We are so going to be left wanting and desperately waiting for season 3, which I love/hate. 🙃

“Jesus” “Jesus… Christ?” “That’s the one!” #severance

Severance is one of the only things getting me through each week. Really not sure what I’m gonna do when the season ends… 😭

FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE UP TO DATE ON YOUR VACCINATIONS NOW.

When people start a teams call asking how I am and I’m trying to contain how close I am to a complete nervous breakdown

A good barometer for my mental state is how well I am sleeping. The sun is coming up shortly and I have not slept one wink. I’m so tired but I can’t shut down.

An important announcement from the Governor of Illinois.

Severance: "This is your doing, you suffered his wantonness. Now he's no ones brother, only chaos' whore." Me:

I am still reeling from last night’s Severance episode. The way it seemed completely out of left field and yet a perfect progression of the story. Every week is a masterclass in storytelling and cinematography. Has me running like this to the internet to discuss with others every week:

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

My mantra lately. Resist. Resist, resist, resist.

Embrace everything that makes us different. Difference is strength. Ostracizing the “other” is hateful and evil. Guantanamo Bay is the site of a new concentration camp - 30,000 people to be confined in a place built for 800. Speak up now - this is the moment. #proimmigration

It is 100% their fault for not retiring 20 fucking years ago or passing any regulation of the tech billionaires that they inflated through tax policies.

America is falling apart but I’m absolutely going to take a moment to freak out about Severance. Episode 3?!?! Are you kidding me?? TV doesn’t get better than this!!

Please call. This is a test to see how far he can push without pushback. The impacts of this are enumerous and far reaching. This is wrong and it will kill people (not a dramatization).

Not gonna lie, lately I’ve been running a little low on sleep. 🙃 #handembroidery

No war but class war. They are keeping us busy being mad at each other when they are the problem. We need to band together and fight back. #eattherich #nowarbutclasswar

AOC: "I want folks at home to look at what members of Congress are invested in private prisons companies, and look at the votes on this bill. It is atrocious that people are lining their pockets with private prison profits in the name of a horrific tragedy."

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

This is so completely fucked up.

How the hell am I supposed to work while america crumbles? You really expect me to answer emails and teams calls while the silent oligarchy becomes a vocal, fascist one? With what energy? With what drive? My heart and my soul are so empty and my bones are exhausted.

If it’s also your mood - I have this design available as stickers and prints on Etsy. #fuckfascism sagestitchco.etsy.com

This has been, and remains, my mood. #fuckfascism

I am proud to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. With division and hate on the rise, Dr. King’s legacy reminds us of our shared humanity and our ability to create change. We will continue the fight and march until injustice is rooted out wherever it’s found.

Yesterday I scrolled furiously through my TikTok in those final hours: saving songs from independent artists and videos with important information or memory attached to them. It felt like grabbing whatever I could carry before this digital library of knowledge and culture collapsed on top of us.

It seems safe to say that TikTok as it existed - an equal opportunity platform of free speech - is dead. Regardless of how it returns, that call out to Frump in the closing message made it pretty clear that if it returns, it will not be like it was before.

This one goes out to TikTok…

Counting down the hours until I’m free to cozy up on my couch and finally watch the Severance season 2 premiere. Imagined corporate power and negligence will distract me from very real corporate power and negligence, at least for an hour.

Just 10 days into the new year, and the world’s richest 1% have already used up their fair share of the global carbon budget for 2025.
