Similar to the dichotomy for journalism.
Ask the public what they want and it’s good news stories.
See what they read and it’s bad news stories.

It was a difficult time for us and we’d appreciate it if you didn’t bring it up again.

I think total industry dev spend was around $60 billion last year.
Thats still an impressive 1/3rd of the industry spend every year for 5 years by one company without an awful lot to show for it.

The idea of a Ai generated game leaves me cold.
Makes me think of the quote:
‘If you can’t be bothered to write it, I can’t be bothered to read it’

Last year Keywords Studios did an experiment into building a simple game with almost only Ai. It gives an interesting insight into the challenges:

No he’s doesn’t.
He wants stuff and things.
If he wanted to end the war Ukraine would be in the room.
They’re not. Because he absolutely, positively does not care about the people of Ukraine.

I assumed you’d done something terrible and deserved this as a punishment.
But you were genuinely looking forward to eating it?!

Catch 22 was of the one funniest, most insightful books I ever read.
By the 3rd reading, it became one of the saddest.

I’m so glad you liked it!
I’ve been nervous all day as the reviews come in. The Obsidian team are some of my favourite people in gaming and I know the love and craft they’ve poured in to it.

This is vile. A real low point for the Labour Party.
I’m so disappointed in them.

I’m looking forward to getting lost in Avowed :)

Me too. But what about the cars? They’re all 90’s.
I can’t get my head round when it’s set!

Interesting. I left the dark place after Elon took over. I wondered what it looks like now.
Since it’s become ‘Truth Social’ mark 2, how long before it collapses..?

The right wing answer is to give the rich everything they ask for.
Good luck with that

Thanks for checking it out. Given research is 5 years old, I wonder what (if any) changes there are now after the inflation/cost of living crisis.

What growth was that then?
George Osborne was fiscal train wreak.
There is nothing to learn from him beyond his mistakes.

Cool we can hope the ‘commerce’ can trickle up North.
FFS!
It’s not hard, it requires a fraction of the investment London gets.

Thank god the new Silicon Valley will be in the South!
For a moment there I was afraid someone might actually invest in the North.

This is a beautiful piece. Thank you.
I had a similar experience when a close friend died. Music was core to him.
We created a Spotify playlist and put in every track we knew he liked or we associated with him.
When I listen to it I swear it has captured a part of his soul.

Family watched this together with my 7 year old and enjoyed every minute!
Perfectly paced adventure romp and one of the best looking Star Wars spinoffs yet.
Hats off to the VFX teams.
