Even if UK left ECHR it would still be bound by other international obligations & treaties. Simple fact is if you want to give yourself a completely free hand internationally you would also have to withdraw from Refugee Convention & United Nations Convention Against Torture - just think about that

Multi-millionaire tax avoiders are telling you that everything wrong with Britain is the fault of immigrants 🤔

Why are Labour dithering; It’s a no brainier Megapoll of almost 15,000 people & MRP analysis undertaken by YouGov on behalf of @bestforbritain.bsky.social shows an overwhelming majority (66%) across Britain want the UK Gov to work with EU to increase the ability of young people to travel and work

Ah, but when the far right bang on about free speech, they mean their right to say whatever they like, including lying, but it also means shutting down any voices of dissent who don’t agree It’s not about free speech, it’s about propaganda

14 years of Tories: NHS falling apart, energy bills through the roof, housing crisis, crime rising, and Brexit a disaster. Tories now in Parliament: 'How did this happen?' Oh, I don’t know, maybe because you were in charge and fucked everything up? 🤦‍♂️ Classic Tory scum.

While Trump appoints 13 billionaires to his cabinet and Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg see their wealth increase by $217 billion since the election, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, 25% of seniors live on $15g or less and millions cannot afford rent. SAY NO TO OLIGARCHY.

Trafalgar Square. #SlavaUkraini

Amazing atmosphere and presence at London rally for Ukraine in Trafalgar Square this evening. I was proud to speak earlier in Parliament to offer staunch Lib Dem support for UK leadership in opposing Putin. Three years after the illegal full-scale assault by Russia, the UK stands with Ukraine.

On the 3rd anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion, Europe is in Kyiv. We are in Kyiv today, because Ukraine is Europe. In this fight for survival, it is not only the destiny of Ukraine that is at stake. It’s Europe’s destiny.

❗️A short-lived peace will immediately turn into a new, possibly bloodier war if Ukraine does not participate in the negotiations from the very beginning, Polish President Duda said. He also said that Trump had accepted an invitation to visit Warsaw.

The blue and yellow of Ukraine. The colours of resistance against imperialism. On the eve of this grim anniversary, they adorn our building as a symbol of our unflinching support for the Ukrainian people. Our neighbours, partners, and future EU members.

Keir Starmer, "Russia menaces our online spaces" "Do you want to know what Nigel Farage and Reform are doing on their rare visits to parliament?" "They're voting against our employment rights bill" "They are not the answer for people in Britain"

Germany’s Merz calls for ‘independence’ from US after election win. Merz says the US has become "largely indifferent to the fate of Europe" and vows to strengthen the continent to "achieve real independence from the USA" www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/ck...

🇺🇦🇺🇸Trump’s lies and despicable statements about Ukraine aren’t just embarrassing—they’re isolating him and the U.S. on the world stage. While he pushes Kremlin propaganda, Europe is moving on without Washington. The U.S. is now weaker and more irrelevant than ever. A thread 🧵:

President Zelenskyy stated his readiness to step down from the presidency if it would lead to guaranteed NATO membership for Ukraine 👇

"America’s growing darkness: a timely warning to the UK Living amidst chaos in the US, I fear a creeping regime reminiscent of 1930s Germany. Project 2025 echoes a history threatening democracy"

Rally for Ukraine in Oxford today. ✊🏼

❗️We need to sign an agreement that will be “win-win” for both the US and Ukraine and its people — Zelensky Also, the agreement should be “pleasant” for both parties. If the agreement is unpleasant for one of the parties, then it is not a partnership.

7 ys ago, on Feb 22, Georgian soldier Archil Tatunashvili was kidnapped, brutally tortured and murdered by Russians. His mutilated body was returned to the family only a month after the murder. This is how Russia conceals its war crimes. We count years and tragedies-Russia gets emboldened even more.

Finally!! Great news - congratulations to all who campaigned for this 👏👏Now we need to make it as inclusive as possible eg covering colleges & apprenticeships @europeanmovement.co.uk

❗️The one who is a dictator is offended by the “dictator” – Zelensky. “I am a legally elected president, I was elected by 73%. After the end of martial law, there will be elections. It is important for me what Ukrainians think of me.”

As the US sits around the table with Lavrov (sanctioned by the Biden) the Russian attacks on civilians in Kyiv haven’t stopped. The Trump administration didn’t even get a cessation in drone attacks in exchange for the PR coup of talks and bringing the regime in from the cold.

Trump just alleged without evidence Ukraine should hold elections because Zelensky holds a "4% approval rating” Recent polling from Kyiv International Institute of Sociology shows as of December 2024, 52% of Ukrainians trust Zelensky I’m sure UK News shows will be all over this in the morning

Been reading through the Government's new Land Use Consultation. Here's the juiciest bits I've seen so far! An excellent, bold proposal to spare 9% of England's least-productive land for nature & carbon - restoring peat bogs & regenerating woods - & changes to ag land use over a further 10% /1
