One of my favourite views. I’d often walk along this path on lunch hour when I worked downtown at YFSA

So disheartening. How can we create a fair and equitable society when the uber rich heavily influence/control politics, business, and government via financial and relationship leverage?

I think 2 hardworking people working full time should be able to afford housing security.

My husband and I bought our first house 16 years ago with zero down payment. Our second house (moved x-country) was the same cost as the first. We now pay a mortgage that is half the cost of the average rent. There is no way we could afford to buy today - both working full time at a university.

The housing crisis has been ongoing for at least a decade. It’s the lower range rents, and mortgages that have disappeared. to keep seniors, single folks, alone or raising children, and 2 people working min wage full time properly housed we need options in this range.

This is the price range that doesn’t exist but people need.

I hope this means houses in the $80,000 to $200,000 range as these are the homes that are needed but don’t exist.

I have fond childhood memories of two big shredded wheat drizzled with honey and milk and then topped with a bit of hot water.

Shredders need to be eaten fast, before the mush happens.

How does the Ottawa fan in your household cope? I’m thinking about starting a local support group lol. To commiserate over our disappointments.

Nice! I could use a purring companion to support as Ottawa turns the puck over and fleet scores

Me too. They’ve been coming biweekly lasting three days, not responding to rescue meds. I’ll see next week how I fare. No more chocolate or caffeine sadly.

Visibility and influence and thus Canadians struggling to afford their lives are asked to pay for prestige, not adequate production.

But I’ve worked at a small town newspaper and know the news can get out with journalists without much oversight. A publicly funded news organization doesn’t need a salesperson or fundraiser, so what are these people doing that someone lesser paid couldn’t do?
I can’t help but feel it’s a matter

My point is with millions of Canadians struggling to afford housing, groceries, and vehicles, who are drowning in insecurity and cannot afford monthly payments, hearing a taxpayer funded exec makes that salary is a hard sell. I’ve never been an executive and so don’t know how essential they are

I support the CBC. But I believe the programming can be good without the exorbitant executive pay and bonuses. Tax payers should not be on the hook for a 220 000 or 450 000 thousand pay check.
Please tell me what these folks are doing that couldn’t be done by someone making 100 000 or less.
