That would be how much money I had in 2007. And life was better back then, so the answer is yes.

I think the same person did the trailer music for this as the Super Mario Bros movie. Random musical observation. For me nothing tops Spielberg’s original (with John Williams’ score) in the theater! That was cinema magic and the dialogue and story were so good.

Come to think of it, I released an electro-acoustic jazz album in 2006 called Jazztronicus that was made using Acid Pro. Back when I was still using Windows.

Twenty years ago I joke that I was using Acid…Acid Pro that is. It was great for loops and loop-based composition back in the day. These days it’s Logic Pro because of all the media work and easy integration of Vienna Symphonic Library sample libraries.

You all are lucky to start so late in the year. We’ve been at it since the 6th.

I have this box and game at home with my original NES. I think there was a small poster in there too.

Funny story, I ended up in a cab with Diana Krall back in 2000 at the North Sea Jazz Festival! I was there performing as part of a student band. Not enough time to fall in love. Haha!

Billy Strayhorn was around 16 when he wrote this song and its amazing lyrics. Two of my favorite performers as well!

Congratulations to Paul! It was a great pleasure hearing him play as a finalist while on the jury of the American Pianists Awards Jazz Piano Competition in 2023. Well deserved!

These days it’s digital albums but I have a large collection of CDs still. In the late 90s a friend (who is a drummer for Bon Iver now) recommended checking out Bjork in a music store and I fell in love with her music and bought every album I could find. I miss those days of discovery!

It was like this with Nintendo games in the 80s and 90s. And yes, life was pretty good back then.

Two episodes in here. Great setup for entering the game again. Smart and character-driven alongside griping suspense without defaulting to what I see as the soap opera style of many American streaming series these days (especially sci-fi and fantasy).
