Ah, I wasn't aware the car was ever near a set, I only remember it as an insert in a magazine in 'Bread and Circuses'.

The best way to describe 'Gamesters' is silly, campy fun.

That will surely give Schumer the vapors!

Why did Nero play the fiddle?

The only thing that frightens Schumer is a sternly written letter where at least one of the words is ALL CAPS. We really have to get a mass letter-writing campaign going.

They could always try the Nigerian prince approach.

They do have deeply held beliefs. To paraphrase Christopher Hitches, they keep them "in the heart of their bottom".

Mount Everest will turn into Death Valley before the Dems do anything to ruffle the top brass.

I believe Lumon Industries has openings.

That kind of crazy thinking is only for functioning democracies.

The unfunniest sitcom of all time is "Chuck in Charge".
comment in response to post
I was about to say 'ooh burn' but that would be redundant.

Chuck's always been a eunuch I'm afraid.

Chuck the Cuck strikes again!

Why anyone ever expected action from Chuck the Cuck is beyond me.

And while he's at it he can take a long walk off a short New York pier.

The whole "Andrew Cuomo is going to be the next mayor of New York" narrative is all you need to know how much they suck.

Well, at least they feel bad about how things are going.

The question is, who's going to be the one willing to 'kick the chair out' on these people, and not in the metaphorical way.

Dems turn into George McFly every time Biff shows up.

Yes, but his vote includes a strongly worded letter explaining (in the politest way possible) that unless Repubs start to do better, he is going to file a complaint with the manager.

He got the memo he just has trouble reading.

I'm rooting for him hard. He's a big man but it's like having an NFL tight end try to play second base though.

Aren't we all operating under the assumption that THIS IS the plan Putin came up with?

I love how the cover showcases America's current soul under Trump; ugly, cold steel where life struggles to maintain its foothold.

"At levels like we've never seen before." "No one's ever seen anything like it." I assume he must be talking about his own incompetence.

Well, you might be right. I wasn't arguing on behalf of Madison, just that Moore wasn't as great as the accolades.
comment in response to post
Nah, you're just trying to pretend that there's a difference between intent and result.

Just about every scene with Margaret Qualley was specifically about the male gaze. In fact, it was so over the top that in some ways if may have undone the filmmakers' own intentions.

Post of the day.

That must be it.

I totally agree that the film was far more personal to women than to men. From my pov, Moore's performance was angry and searing but not heartfelt. It left me a little cold.

Or, consider that so much of The Substance was in the effects, the set design, the cinematography, and the role Moore was given to play was nowhere near as fully fleshed as the role in Anora.

Wasnā€™t it Spy magazine that famously called him a ā€˜short fingered vulgarianā€˜?

Good to see. Previous scouting on him has stated that his three pitches are 'average' or slightly above at best. Maybe the pitching lab is paying dividends. For Dom Hamel too.

They want the middle class to become lower class, so they'll work for Wal-Mart wages. The tech bro billionaire class is all in on building a new type of feudalism. No one ever said these people were bright and forward thinking, they're just craven.
