Meanwhile in Guelph, #Ontario, new " #AI-powered recycling helpers" recognize what object you're presenting and tell you which bin it goes in! I'm sure that's all it does. It doesn't, say, collect facial recognition data for Oscar Media Exchange, an ad company who offered to install them for free.

Hah, rad. The US is reverting gender markers on passport renewals. Mine had F. I did all the paperwork for that over a decade ago. Renewed passport I just got? Says M. So yeah fuck you United States, I guess? But whatev I can still use it to leave the country, and my license has the right marker.
