I've got some guidance on prompts in the link, but to be clear: prompts are short and general, something that gives me guidance but doesn't overly hem me in. After all, I really only get a few hours to write the fic, and I need to have some flexibility with that!

Jaune can be arrogant and dense and reckless and kind of dumb, but the one thing he should not be is a loser. And when you give into the "but he _wants_ it and never had a chance!" argument you're just identifying him as a loser. A man gets humbled and grows from it, a loser just mopes.

When I write Jaune, I try to give him angles where he can bring existing strengths to bear, things he feels aren't "heroic" but are actually essential. He's Pyrrha's emotional rock, he's a world-class quartermaster for JNPR, he's genuinely a workhorse, anything that gives him a chance to contribute.

I have a fic that's currently at 21k words, it's one continuous narrative and POV, and so it's likely to be posted as a single story. I'm not sure if it has good break points, but I'm wondering if its form might be getting a little long to be enjoyable as a read.

But maybe someone like Yang would be all for a "Lock up your daughters, great hero Yang is here to fight and fuck!" kind of story, so there could be more bawdy genres and a high/low divide that Huntsmen angle themselves into as part of creating their brand?
