I mean, as long as you're telling him (you) to put a bet on United coming bottom half in 2025 that seems like a worthwhile endeavour. Maybe not Euromillions levels, but could dine out on that bet forever.

That Mexico story had me in ribbons 😂

Is that Phil Foden?

Can't argue with any of that. Was saying to my young lad, it's the most relaxed I've been watching us versus them in a long time. Even with all their possession it felt like a procession to victory. Not done as you said, but I plan to just enjoy the rest of the season now. What a team.

What’s a weird family tradition or habit you thought was normal until you told other people?

What’s the most ridiculous way you’ve injured yourself?

Pipped you this week… just! 😅

Ah mate, that's class. Congrats.

The best kind.. 😜

I've had a few onto me screaming for more rotation and better performance from players. Reality is it's just a massive bank of fixtures played every few days and we have to find a way through by hook or crook. The manager has shown, so far, he can manage fitness for his favourite 11-13. Have at it.

Other side, afternoon Liverpool games were usually on late at night, so we’d be well in by kick off. We beat Man City 3-2 in 2014 on my birthday. That was some night out, but the whole run was mad. Still one of my favourite seasons even though I couldn’t get to the game and we didn’t win the thing.

This is it mate. All about getting together and creating an atmosphere wherever you are.

Never followed or cared about NFL. I assume if I grew up over there I probably would. But I did work running pubs in Asia for a bit and with the time difference we put on special boozy breakfasts for all our American regulars. Was good craic seeing them enjoy themselves like they were back home.

All in all, it was clear to everyone (bar seemingly Levy) that it was time to cut ties.

Shame to see from his perspective - I think it was one of the Friday Shows a Spurs contributor saying "He looks like a superhero who's lost his powers and knows it." Apt description. Along with his pace and stamina, he's also lost his goal scoring sidekick, so ends up looking abject in big games.

Really enjoyed the last couple of Press Conference Extras by the way. Very funny. Looking forward to seeing how Slot works a cricket reference into his next presser...

He's been phenomenal, credit to Arne for identifying him for and moulding him into that role, and to Ryan for utterly bossing it.

But no surprise considering the team he plays for. Swings and roundabouts!

Seriously though, you never want to see a player get a serious injury, which is why it's good news Martinez won't be playing for a few months.

😂 Might have to steal that for a whatsapp group!

Chinese equivalent (according to my wife): "A dragon gives birth to a dragon. A phoenix to a phoenix. The son of a mouse knows how to dig a hole."

Not great to be honest mate, thanks though. Liverpool being boss helped lift the spirits a bit.

Oh man. That was my lived experience in Asia for a decade. Even today, was watching it on an iPad with rubbish WiFi visiting my auld lad in hospital, connection dropped for 30 seconds, came back to find Darwin celebrating with his shirt off. I’ll take it! Huge win.

Ah class. Spent a decade in Beijing and travelled around Asia a fair bit, but never actually made it to KL. Was always on the list though, have some friends there. Enjoy mate, eat all the things!

I just loved 'Whose Line' - Tony and Ryan Stiles were always the standouts. Been watching old clips today, still as ridiculous and hilarious as it was when it first aired.

Spot on.

💯 Was very surprised he didn't hook Trent much earlier. He has form for doing so and it was glaringly obvious he wasn't at the races.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

Just give him the United job. He’s earned it.

Retired a few months ago. Think the Littler-Humphries final was his last game.

My Dad's cousin was the guitarist in the Undertones. My very distant claim to fame... but made this song a family favourite in a way it already would and should be.

Would you accept 5-0?
comment in response to post
Made the mistake of tuning in for the second half when I saw the 1-0 scoreline. Zero chance they were even creating a decent chance. Saying that, Arsenal far from convincing and easily rattled and that's just fine.

Just a bit. Roll on Boxing Day. Taking my boys to it.
comment in response to post
United if they get through, Newcastle if they don't so that Arsenal would have (I think) a Spurs triple header in Jan/Feb.

At the price we paid, it was a no brainer. An opportunistic move to get hold of an international level player who would accept being a squad player for us, at least in the short term. If we can get and keep him fit, having him as a rotation option for Mo will be invaluable later in the season.
comment in response to post
That ticks all the boxes for me. Get through it injury free with youngsters and returning players getting time on the pitch. And a win. Done. Onto Tottenham.

I take it back. Endo can play anywhere.

David Burrows, are you mad?! We're going to need left back cover in the league, he needs to be wrapped in cotton wool.
comment in response to post
Full agree. It certainly reached its peak around then, although I enjoyed later seasons with Santos and Vinick. Great cast. (You could try argue that with Neil though - not a fan I gather!)

Haven't gotten as far as wrapping, but all presents bought by December 2nd without setting foot inside a physical shop. Currently hidden from the kids in the attic.

Good shout!

Fully agree. And after the last game being called off you'd want to get them back at it. I guess I just had the Girona game earmarked as one to rest a few, especially with the injuries we're carrying, but on the whole I think you're right, they play at their best when they're rolling game-to-game.
comment in response to post
Fair enough, and based on his form so far I'm pretty sure that's what the manager will do. A win to put this phase to bed would definitely make the winter run a lot easier. A lot to be said for that. Enjoy the game.
comment in response to post
Would you go strong in this one Neil? I’m generally in favour of maintaining a winning mentality, and we may have lost some momentum with the last league result, but feels like an opportunity to just focus on fitness and getting bodies back for a big winter push.

What did he say? Only caught a short clip where he was doing the "Proud of the players, proud of the performance" mantra.
