I don’t care if they get John Williams to do the score, “Passing Breeze” had better be on it!

And they’ll respond with their fervent protest anthem: the fearsome sound of a million latchkeys “zip-zipping” in unison.

Nice, but Scotty did it first.

God - astonishing. One of the best to ever do it

For a guy who seems to get Oscar nominations every time he opens a script, it’s so strange that his best performances weren’t even nominated. “Courage Under Fire” comes to mind. The image of this regal figure slowly crumbling from the inside still haunts me.

Exactly this. The scenes were good but the movie was perfectly paced. There’s no way an action movie of its scope today would have been kept to under 2 hours like that one was.

It’s a weird case. He has a big role as a secondary antagonist. But he’s uncredited AND heavily disguised; his very presence was considered a spoiler; some didn’t know it was him until the credits. I think the surprise element & his A-list status outweigh the screentime factor, so I’m Team Cameo. 🤔

Tom Cruise in “Tropic Thunder”: cameo or no?

Perfect casting.

With the Alpha Quadrant now safe and his moral compass severely compromised, an emboldened Elmo now turns his attention to his next victim…

They definitely think that. They’re wondering why their service doesn’t earn them more treats!

Oh, and they should pass a federal law with draconian penalties that bans the use of the “Ring” windchimes in TV and movies. These idiots lose their minds over that!

As someone who lives w/2 excitable dogs, I so agree. TV/ movies should agree on a common sound effect for doorbells that sounds nothing like real doorbells. It’s like that 555 phone number they use: we all know it’s fake, but we collectively decided the greater good was more important than realism.

I’d love to see that too. But let’s just say that James Bond visiting his elderly mom would be as canonically accurate as Bruce Wayne visiting his.

Introducing a prominent third wheel in the sequel to a beloved two-handler could have gone wrong a million different ways. And Pesci absolutely nailed it. If the Academy respected comedy, Pesci’s Oscar would have had an older brother for this movie.

That the builder’s only narrative function is to set up the nail gun fight one hour later, and yet he STILL brought the house down with that one line is just one of the reasons I love this movie so much.

I will argue to my dying day that this belongs alongside “Godfather II,” “Empire Strikes Back,” “Star Trek II,” “T2” and “Aliens” as one of the greatest sequels ever.

And the brief musical homage to “Wipeout” when we first see the surfboard is just perfection. In a series that had the talents of Michael Kamen, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn, those 5 second may have been the best musical moment of the “Lethal Weapon” films.

Charge. But she really… (tee-hee) took it to the house!

It’s hard to make extreme affability funny, but he’s the best at it since Sam Richardson in “Veep.” And Derek still has perhaps “Shrinking’s” most loved line (well, loved by everyone except for Pam 😂).

You’re not wrong at all.

I’ll take it! 😅

Another respectful counterpoint: weren’t the final 2 seasons of DS9, like, 60% Federation war crimes?

I’m losing friends over my own Star Trek hot take (which is somewhat related to yours) but I’m standing by it. 🖖

I think my wife is about ready to have me committed because I spent literally the entire weekend muttering, “‘I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)’ is NOT yacht rock.”

What makes that movie so enduring is I keep catching things I missed when I saw it as a kid. Like Lois is kinda feelin’ Clark a little when she asks him that, only to come to her senses w/his earnest (and honest) answer. Of course, “how big are you” also completely sailed over my head.

He was in that? Now I gotta rewatch.

Still mad about him not getting that Oscar nod for The Hurt Locker. But he’s great: perfect casting as The Falcon (who I loved as a kid).

It’s my #1. The Nick Fury police chase is probably Marvel’s greatest action sequence. And I’d argue that getting Robert Redford was low-key MCU’s greatest casting coup.

Would your cat happen to be named “Liz Lemon?”

I came close to flying to NYC to see this. Loved Sanborn, and “Night Music” was my gateway drug to so many of my favorite musicians. Still not quite over his loss.

Wait... I'm talking about the Michael Mann movie - you mean it was a TV show?!? 😉

When we were dating, I impressed my wife with my ability to predict the locator "dun-dun's", so I guess that's mine.
