Make Politicians Scared of Constituents Again

Abolish ICE is not an absurdity statement. ICE was created in 2003 as a response to 9/11 - we do not need it. We already established that following orders isn't an excuse.

When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

RFK is a eugenics freak first and foremost and everything falls downstream from that. he *wants* excess deaths. he thinks that only the "fit" should survive.

I finally bullied my friend into getting a library card, and I’m coming for you next: Get a library card! Use it or lose it! They are terrific local resources in more ways than you think! And you’ll find out how when you go get that library card!

Marco Rubio just made the argument, bold faced, not a mistake an intentional statement, that at any time the US can revoke your visa and then you are instantly here illegally and they can arrest you, deport you, torture you, all without any due process. That means the United States is simply unsafe

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns. Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity. It’s been the plan for decades.

Not to be a wide-eyed naïf about such things but... am I right in thinking that they levelled an entire building to get to one guy and *that* is not controversial to anyone in the American media or political class, only that this information was recklessly shared in an unsecured chat?

The government treating Teslas on fire as a big dramatic deal and what's weird about this is. They only care about Tesla fires when there are *NOT* people in the car. If a Tesla catches on fire while people are driving it that is apparently normal and the government sees nothing there to investigate

And here we go -- Fox News is now saying we should get rid of "due process" because it's too cumbersome. Brian Kilmeade: "But I also think it's not practical to think that we can do due process on 8 million people." www.mediamatters.org/brian-kilmea...

Members of Congress need to demand access to this facility ASAP. www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/f...

This energy right here.

Right now, the savviest thing a Democratic politician can possibly do is to publicly demonstrate a willingness to violate both norms and decorum.

every person involved in this needs to be in prison

No one who's trying to destroy the Department of Education has ever spent three minutes in a public school, and neither have their children or their grandchildren. None of the people destroying any of our valued public services have ever relied on them.

Pam Bondi saying the days of criminals facing no consequences are over whilst working for a 34 time felon who faced no consequences is a bit on the nose.

BREAKING: 34,000 people have showed up in Denver, Colorado this evening to see Bernie Sanders and AOC fight oligarchy and authoritarianism.

Good news from Colorado: A U.S. District Judge ordered a school district to restore library books they banned by next week, prohibiting the district from further restrictions on access to books that the school board objects to politically. #UniteAgainstBookBans www.denverpost.com/2025/03/19/e...

Chicken Comer

As they erase history from the internet its a bloody good thing we have books Have libraries Support your library folks!!!

Did you know you can walk into a library and get books for FREE? Like, they have books and movies. For FREE. Most even have an app for digital and audio books. For FREE.

This is a friendly reminder that library cards are free, and your local public library will never make you pay extra so you don't have to watch ads.

I unironically use my local library a lot. Ebooks, audio books, physical books, the seed exchange, the meeting spaces?? Passport services?? Citizenship and English classes? I grew up in the teen hangout area as a housing insecure youth with a bad parent. Libraries are important, I'm pissed

Several weeks ago, with the help of Cat 1 and Cat 2, I made the ultimate calming GIF to use this Sunday morning. Please share with anyone in mental distress. It is not to be used by Blades, for they must suffer for their crimes!! #SWFC #WAWAW

You can’t tell me he’s not an alien controlling a cat suit.

Of course, having to stay in DC past today would have interfered with Schumer’s book tour which begins Monday.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but PLEASE sign up for a library card. If you do already have one, encourage others around you to get one. I am 100% positive that there is something there that you will enjoy reading. Reading doesn’t have to only be for those who can afford to pay $20+ a book ❤️📚

Idea: we should invest in making an adorable robot duo to clean up dog poop from our yards. Have a drone scan for poop and then have the drone tell the rover where to scoop.

Does anyone have book recommendations for sci-fi or fantasy with an adult protagonist (21+)? I’m tired of the YA recommendations.
