It is disgusting. Not only must Ukraine accept this blackmail, it must do so while also accepting the loss of 20% of its territory. That’s not ‘peace’ it is extortion.

Ukraine can withstand with Europe's help if the US just walks away. But Ukr/Europe can't fight a US-russia alliance. We don't know whether if Trump fails to impose his deal, he'd lose interest or whether he'd start helping russia w intelligence, lifting sanctions, etc. This is the absurd situation.

The mainstreaming of white ethnonationalism (aka racism) in the UK was, of course, wholly unrelated to the racist bilge Fraser Nelson published in the Spectator during his 15 years as editor.

Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service claimed this week to have saved an estimated $55 billion through a combination of layoffs, canceled contracts, lease renegotiations and other actions. But a list that it posted of contracts and leases suggests that number is inflated.

The @Telegraph, @thetimes, @MailOnline & @TheSun publish corrections to their scaremongering on undocumented migrants in London. Imagine between them the reach & power of these papers. The fact is they are using that power to instil Trumpist hate & we are ill-equipped to resist.

The American right was always at real risk of turning into a personality cult, but you'd think they could've mustered the pride and self-respect to pick a less stupid personality.

BREAKING — States attorneys general lead by @newyorkstateag.bsky.social were just granted a preliminary injunction in their case against DOGE. The team cannot access Treasury Department payment systems or data while the lawsuit proceeds. Major.

Fraser Nelson is shocked, shocked to see Nazis getting media airtime

London stands with Ukraine

"In Norway, Tesla saw a 38% sales slump, in France sales dropped by 63%, and in Spain by 75%. Tesla sales dropped 13% across the whole European Union last year and are expected to fall further... Tesla registered only 1,277 new cars in Germany in January, a year-on-year drop of 59.5%."

Polls are already demonstrating public dissatisfaction with Trump-Musk’s autocratic overreach and top agenda items, yet they have only intensified their assault, and GOP lawmakers who have dared to air their concerns have done so in only the meekest of terms.

I keep seeing DEI being called an ideology when it is not, and the white supremacy that is replacing it not being called an ideology, when it really is. That shit goes back centuries.

BBC News on hour reporting straight that Trump has got rid of military chiefs because ‘they’re too mired in woke culture’ 🤯🤯🤯 Traditional liberal democratic media still hasn’t learned how to report on authoritarians, even now when it’s almost too late

Just a reminder that a sitting Labour peer went on this guy's podcast just weeks ago and told him: "I just want to show respect to you, Steve, really, publicly... it's important that I do that."

Labour has a real counterattack opportunity if they’re brave enough to take it. More spending, both for public services + defence, using the need to prep the UK for war to justify breaking fiscal rules/tax pledges. Be unequivocal in calling those seeking to undermine the UK traitors and quislings.

Starlink should be banned from European markets on national security grounds. Anything requiring Starlink should be shut out of the European market, and sanctions should be considered against all relevant actors. kyivindependent.com/us-threatens...

Britain’s least serious newspaper has more principles than most of Britain’s official opposition, or the entire US Republican Party

This is how it’s done.

I find this very moving: a 10-year-old Ukrainian boy who moved to the West of Ireland 2 years ago as a refugee, speaking in Irish of his love of playing Irish music

Slava Ukraini. ✊🇺🇦

Neither Musk nor Trump care whether what they say is true. They don't care about rooting out fraud or saving taxpayer money. The administration is just “flooding the zone,” knowing that the people cannot keep up.

Standing up to the authoritarian wave requires more than cheerleading for democracy; it demands making democratic societies more participatory, responsive, and adaptable at all levels, from local to national, in response to the societal shifts driven by the Internet over the past 15 years.

⚡️63% of Ukrainians approve Zelensky as president, poll shows.

NEW: Not only is DOGE's man in the Treasury Department keeping his day job as CEO of Cloud Software Group, his company currently has millions of dollars in government contracts. Including with the Treasury Department. More from @peard33.bsky.social www.wired.com/story/krause...

It matters that scientists speak out against what is being done to US science. Staying silent is neither "objective" nor "staying out of politics". Silence now *is* political - it supports the status quo, says "nothing to worry about". We need to sound the alarm. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Farage and Truss speaking from the same CPAC stage where Nazi salutes are given…? No words… for British politicians to spout their tripe, denigrating our country like this is extraordinary. Not seen since Haw Haw…

America is trying to blackmail Ukraine by demanding all of its mineral resources. It wants Greenland, Panama and Canada. It wants to bring down the UK government. It’s allied itself with the far right in Germany. The American dream is over. The American nightmare has begun.

America not feeling hardcore on Space Karen

Look, he made some big mistakes but Neville Chamberlain was a more decent man than any of the amoral trashbags currently being compared to Neville Chamberlain. He wasn't actively rooting for Hitler.

There are two people in Congress-the chairs of the Senate & House Appropriations Committees-who have enormous power over the illegal impoundment of funds appropriated by Congress, which is sowing chaos across the US. They need to be relentlessly contacted at their offices, in person and by phone. 1/

Archaeologists have discovered the tomb of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh, the first such find since King Tutankhamun’s resting place was unearthed in 1922, Egyptian officials announced this week.

This is a great, clarifying podcast. Through all the information we are overloaded with, listening to this cuts through all the BS. Critical thinking, alive and well. ❤️

Trump is on Putin's side. That's it. That's the story and if you are on Trump and Putin's side then you're on the side of murder, fear, war and autocracy. Find it absolutely staggering that some people who you'd expect so much more of are cheering this nightmare on

i love how when we get unusually mild weather we're like 'we're hotter than Greece!' as if Greece hasn't been suffering from wildfires and 40 degrees heat the past few years. Greece is hotter than Greece!!

There's a rumour that Nigel Farage is keeping his head down because he's off to a Trump cheerleading conference over the weekend. I’m afraid I’m being proved right- Farage is far more interested in Trump's success than British security. He is a bootlicker and a plastic patriot.

British 'conservatives' suddenly confronted by the 100% predictable consequences of their own actions that everyone told them about... Never fails to get everything completely and utterly wrong in a testable and provable manner.

Excellent news. Overdue education for many British people about its role in Ireland’s history. Buckle up.

No matter how hard Donald Trump tries, he still can’t get Republican voters to like Vladimir Putin.

The end of the country as it was founded/created is near. Weird to be alive for it.
