So a Major tornado outbreak just happened in the southern US... And Trump is golfing while trying to defund NOAA, NWS, and FEMA. The agencies that ensure disaster recovery and weather alerts... And trump is busy golfing.

I think the key takeaway from the Senate democrats on the CR is that we need new leadership. We are going to have the same problem in September if Schumer stays at the helm. And you know you have a problem when Pelosi, Jefferies, Nate Silver, and democratic centrists all come out against you.

It's not too late. There's still a chance to stop this CR... and potentially humiliate Schumer out of leadership in the process, although no promises there. This backlash is very, very real though. Call your Senators and tell them to vote NO on cloture. 202-224-3121.

I have to say: Chuck Schumer is a weak man and a fool. This was the one cudgel Dems had. Now it's up to the courts which we new from the beginning were at best going to slow some things down. There's 18 hours left to somehow bring additional pressure to bear. It will be really hard to do that.
