I watched Locke expecting some Tom Hardy escapism in the middle of a break up. It was great but it wasn’t that.

regardless of today’s outcome, it is morally indefensible to have a court ruling on something that affects a population, using evidence and findings that did not consult a single member of that population.

Stop worrying about bats and newts? No Rachel Reeves MP – start worrying about the future of our economy if we tear down the nature it depends on. Nature isn’t a blocker; it’s the foundation of growth.

Happy 80 years to Robert Wyatt, and thank you for one of the most beautiful songs I know youtu.be/Y1Wss9RHi_Q?...

The media since 2015.

Since there’s a lack of “do the right thing” leadership out there these days, a suggestion: If you’re a leader in any capacity, you have to support people even if they don’t like you.

In my second week at the Guardian I had to add the old Observer logo to theguardian.com/observer. Couldn't believe that was my actual job. Gutted this has gone through. github.com/guardian/fro...

I think a moth just shat on me

The Secret Army on BBC iPlayer is astonishing

@lenoret.bsky.social You and plenty of Guardian Aus journalists have accounts here, will there be an official Guardian account soon? Lead the charge away from Twitter, I’m sure many will help to promote it.

First time on the train since the Guardian decided everyone should be in the office more. Standing room only. Already overheard 2 conversations about how they "get more done at home, to be honest". Disparity between experience of management and everyone else feels really marked.

2023 was the warmest year on record globally by a large margin. Another dark red stripe gets added, though I think I need a new colour. #ShowYourStripes

Didn’t realise he was still a baby. Something went wrong in that pool. Something with time. He’s right to sue them.

Good ghost: Tony Conrad Bad ghost: La Monte Young

@darthbluesky.bsky.social darth I need to bring your attention to the billy goat that ran around an affluent suburb in Birmingham recently daring anyone to catch him. They chased him through 2 country clubs. This photo was from an abandoned hospital. He posed on the second floor for his pursuers.

Brought the washing in just before it started raining, like the druids did
