What exactly is a civic uprising?

If they extend this to folks in think tanks and evaluation firms I will strongly consider this. Already have EU citizenship.

Sean Duffy is an intensely stupid person.

yeah they don't care about democracy. If he was a stable dictator they could just roll with it.

"I saw the movie. Apparently they have monkeys that can talk there. Amazing stuff."

If the question didn't include "crazy" then yes. Unfortunately it does.

I am, for example, currently using the CPS-ASEC for a project on SSI reform. And I used it regularly to understand the impacts of CTC reforms when I worked at JFI. It's good when you can quantify the costs and effects of a policy proposal!

Question regarding the labor intensity: Are key limes worth the extra work? Like do you notice the difference between a key lime pie and a...lime pie? I have never used the former and I wondering.

I am a big fan of forest plots of effect sizes with confidence intervals.

He has strong competition from Newsom today and every day so this is a difficult question.

It was supposed to be his show, his vehicle until Urkel fucked it up. I understand.

Senators are not assigned a legion of soldiers here in the real world. You might as well say you demand he lead a military coup if you are going to make up magical fantasy bullshit.

There are court cases afoot that have implications for the president's ability to remove people in independent agencies. So it may be possible.

Powell would fight it. But "attempt to destroy fed independence" would not go over well in general.

I would love that. Would also be a fun summer job for a college kid.

They wouldn't bother if they thought they could do anything at all with no push back.

Ultimately there is a war for public opinion. And the more brazen and salient the lawlessness gets the more people will take notice and demand answers. You already see this with Bondi and others trying to reclaim the narrative Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia. Now suddenly he is an MS-13 capo.

The people demand @maiamindel.bsky.social release the data, code, and analysis behind her joke.

As an American I will say that that is also the case here. And it is also ruining our country.

Seems like the UK has some serious and pressing economic, trade, safety net, health care, etc. issues that they might want to devote attention to. So very interesting they are instead laser-focused on a tiny vulnerable minority's right to go about their business in peace.

Ok there are sites reporting this but they are gaming sites i have never heard of and I don't trust. And Eurogamer has an article (I believe the one I read) basically saying, "people are saying it was remade in Unreal Engine 5" so it seems thinly sourced. So now I am bit skeptical.
comment in response to post
I'd have to track down the article where I read that yesterday.

Seems like this one will be in unreal engine 5. Skyblivion is a total conversion mod for Skyrim special edition.

So basically finance guys just like to give really metal names to things disconnected from likely danger.

What makes this even more galling is that so much of our safety net is administered through the tax code. And so many working class folks rely on paid tax prep to access that vital aid. That means third parties are eating a portion of, for example, the EITC and CTC aid the IRS sends out.

Silver Surfer does not have a great track record outside of the comics. Crossing my fingers.

Yeah they'll never be able to completely rule out alternatives but the evidence will become very strong as we accumulate more pings in varied cosmic conditions.

Generalizable to democratic and republican presidents of all stripes to be honest

You seemed to have missed the part of the OP where a small number of House GOPers are part of this move to caucus with the democrats. But I get it, you want to be annoying in someone's replies.

Yeah I am not holding my breath.

If he was impeached and convicted and refused to step down and this was the news that everyone in the country was aware of including the military? That's an order of magnitude different in salience and simplicity than a judicial spat.
