Court filings reveal a bombshell: A former cellmate of one of the informants said he knows that the story the state used to convict Wood—the purported jailhouse confession—was made up with the help of El Paso police.

SCOOP: FEMA's top lawyer was forced out yesterday after less than a week on the job—and sources tell me it was because of his unwillingness to write a memo providing legal cover for the agency's impoundment of $80 million from NYC migrant shelters. Full story:

Hey, @sanders.senate.gov — please tell us Vermonters you’re in solidarity with @wyden.senate.gov & @chrismurphyct.bsky.social in not participating in Trump’s reality tv show before the joint session.

Last I checked, WaPo's vote wasn't counting in Ukraine.

While we're on the subject — "amateur," doesn't mean "bad/low-skilled." All it means is that you don't do it for money. So today, some of y'all learned that, if you get reimbursed for your work at all, in any form— you're a professional artist. Yes, that includes trading art for social support

Because endless finger-wagging and continuing to grant unanimous consent is such a shining example of "leadership."

i mean the oscar broadcast was enjoyable but it feels like a cultural victory for fascism that hollywood is too scared for even vague platitudes about resisting.

Daily reminder to myself that rolling back fascism requires of me and everyone broad solidarity with factions I might find deeply objectionable in milder times. That’s much of the heavy lifting.

There’s a major shift in U.S. cybersecurity policy. A recent CISA memo removed Russia from its list of priorities, focusing instead on China and local systems. Analysts were told not to track Russian cyber threats.

I've heard this my whole life, and it's part and parcel to the "just vote for the lesser evil, bro" narrative. Sure, it may work in the short term. But in the long term — it gets us right where we are.

We've gone completely past norms at this point. Civility and decorum aren't going to be what rolls it back.

Wow that doesn't sound like a conflict of interest at all.

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, no particular order, no explanations, no reviews - just covers. #booksky #20bookchallenge (12/20)

Think too about how advertising works. It's a flood strategy. Everywhere, all the time. You have to be your own biggest advocate — and shameless self-promotion is very much a part of that. It doesn't have to be fake — take pride in your work and share what you make. Just do it a lot.

Finally, some good news.

Shutting down PubMed would have enormous consequences globally on medical sciences. On my Nordic/UK ISPs it half resolves, but result is unusable. Let’s hope it is just a temporary error and not the junta in action.

Sunday sillies. Stop overreacting, they said.

International atomic monitors are for the first time traveling through Russian territory rather than Ukraine to reach Europe’s biggest nuclear-power plant.

just read a LinkedIn post where a CEO posted a screenshot of chatgpt saying his product had better pricing with the first reply being a competitor posting a chatgpt screenshot of it saying his product was better and I’m strongly considering joining the butlerian jihad now

NEW VIDEO: Donald Trump is taking unprecedented actions to assert his control over the federal government. Behind these efforts is the unitary of executive theory, a once-fringe legal idea. Paige and I explain what it is and why it is so dangerous. www.youtube.com/watch?v=61DX...

This. Boycotts are like strikes: they're sieges, when they effect any sort of change. Successful ones last, at least, hundreds of consecutive days. Worth noting the organizer John Schwarz was a reg. sex offender and the sole member of People's Union USA that organized the boycott. 1/

Posted this on substack.com/@boyandhisdog but pinning it here. Ways you, a normal person, can help Ukraine. ukraineaidops.org an international group of civilian volunteers securing protective gear and life-saving equipment, delivered directly to Ukrainian defenders. 1/

I try not to be overly fatalistic... but I kinda think the country is collapsing bc Ivy League educated columnists for NYT and the Atlantic found pronoun circles mildly annoying.
