Just got reminded that Gridlock'd exists. I remember liking it a lot when I watched it in '97. I should get hold of a copy and see if it holds up.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a declassified World War II-era CIA guide to sabotaging fascism in the workplace has become one of the most popular free ebooks on the internet: www.404media.co/declassified...

First thing I've noticed on firefox is that the ad blockers work a lot better than they did on Chrome. 2015 me knew this. 2007 me knew this.

John Tory sued the last guy that tried this instead of funding this and finding a space where they could camp. Mans is doing what government has failed to do for FREE. It would be easy to fund this and turn it into a W until a permanent housing solution can be [finally] worked out.

I made Very Hungry Caterpillar socks!

Let's talk facts. I hear the argument that covid vaccinations only matter for the older or most vulnerable. Well I looked at that during the pandemic and they reduced the risk of hospitalization for every eligible age group in Ontario Canada. #VaccinesWork

"LOGON PLEASE :" A simple text prompt is all that greets you as you boot up Activision's HACKER from 1985. No instructions are provided with the game, immersing you in the feeling of having randomly connected into somewhere you really shouldn't be...

it's so important to understand that whatever "ceasefire" is being negotiated is not going to change the history or ongoing reality of israel's murderous, treacherous, colonialist existence. a cessation of the current violence is essential & life-saving & horrendously overdue, but it is not enough

I once met Will Eisner at a very small convention...unaware that it was him. I was working the discount manga and he came over, an 80 year old man, and asked some questions about the books. I answered and he was excited. "WOW! So diverse! What am I wasting my time here for...I could be drawing!"

This is a wild shot, but does anyone out there know about this kind of sliding bookcase? I'm finally getting resigned to the reality that if I can't switch in a major way to ebooks, I may need to accept that I won't be able to see ALL THE BOOKS at once. So I'm curious about something like this…

Doing some What If...? mapping via @felt.com Could Toronto Handle A Congestion Charge? I think yes, with some additional help prioritizing streetcars routes on King, Queen, Dundas and College/Gerrard. Cc: @udayrana.bsky.social #IdeasAtWork felt.com/map/Could-To...

Happy 25th anniversary to Y2K not wrecking the world and causing a lot of people to assume that the lack of a disaster meant that all the advance mitigation we did to prevent chaos was a waste of time and therefore we should never again come together as a society to collectively work for the better

Today I learned about a Compile MSX2 game called Girly Block. You'd think this would be some sort of Gals Panic-style softcore porn puzzle game, but no. It's an action game about a giant lumbering robot that stomps around exploding things. Finally: a true celebration of girl power

Game Development: An increasingly large black hole that is also on fire. Me: "I should make a game. That will be fun." www.linkedin.com/posts/youngb...

Sometimes you make slides that are too real not to share with the world.

Against all odds, you need this... The famous Gravis Gamepad! Positioning itself as the gamepad of choice for the DOS and early Windows gamer of 1993. I never had one of these as sidewinders were my choice when I started PC gaming in '98. Was this (or still is!) your fave, vintage PC biskies?

More work done on this fun little 2d dungeon crawler side project. I reworked the sprites and halved the resolution down to 320X200. Plus coded a minimap so its not disorienting when going down hallways. I think Im going to add a stat system next. #1bit #pixelart #retro #gamedev

Don't ever use AI, even (and especially) as a joke to show how AI is terrible.

I dreamt that a nuclear device was set off in Toronto and all of us who live and work down town were going to die within a few days. The dream mainly involved it being awkward talking to people who lived far enough away to only be slightly irradiated and would probably live.

just insane. Reviewing a paper on covid in Canada that finds an 11-fold increase in risk of hospitalization in the month after infection. Just absolutely bonkers. I've been doing respiratory virus epi for a long time, and we really don't trade in statistics like "relative risk = 11"

i've just seen a british person type "skills issue" and now nothing can convince me that "skill" is not short for "skillematics"

I’ve gotten five movies made and executive produced over a 100 hours of television and although I love comics I rarely make them because comparatively *they are too fucking hard*. Both in craft and business execution. All comic creators, writers, artists, letterers, colorists, are frikkin’ heroes.

Hey folks, sorry it's been so long. The Zork let's play that we promised to do as part of @rangedtouch.bsky.social charity stream will be starting tomorrow. It originally would've been up today but I caught a few mistakes in the render that I need to fix today.

i've made over 900 fonts. you can buy them all for commercial use for $19. h e l p ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pa...

Since both my spouse and I are working the holidays making sure people can buy comics and graphic novels [support your local book store!], I was home alone on Christmas. So, I got high, watched movies, and maybe invented a new dessert?
