Kaiser: Won't be waiver exempt next year. Needs new paper. Team might be taking their last looks to see what he is. Dream Scenarios (unlikely) Athanasiou is up to replace a soon to be departed Donato. Kaiser is up because he might be a secondary piece in an upcoming trade. 2/2
comment in response to post
My best guesses: (not that you care lol) Athanasiou: Foligno, Kurashev are dinged up, they need a warm body. Regularly injured as usual, but doing quite well when healthy. Kaiser/Allan: They probably want more ice time for Allan. 1/2

a) third team involved would increase likelihood b) VGK level of salary cap maneuvering not factored in c) high level cap assess only, not suggesting these teams are interested. 2/2
comment in response to post
Cap increases by 7.5MM next year. Much easier then. It's this year that's the big hurdle. Assume: 1) non max retention by the Hawks, 2) destination is at least "fighting for the playoffs" this year: Detroit Winnipeg Vancouver NYR Colorado Utah Minnesota Anaheim Calgary Columbus 1/

Very true. Would be even more catastrophic in the eyes of ESPN.

It would be epic if they switched the game times so the CA/FIN game would be a "win or go home" or "win in regulation or go home" situation. But of course they gotta put the biggest market on prime time, I get it.

Of course Trump will take credit somehow.

I'm assuming you've read all of the Erik Larson books? There was a new one out recently.

They will find something/someone to blame for their misfortune.

Don't know the band but the album title is: "If This & the 4 Nations Trade Article Are An Indicator, It'll Be A Long 2 Weeks Until The Hawks Play Again".
comment in response to post
On a pace for 61 points this year. Last year they had 52. ~shrug~ like you were sayin'.....
comment in response to post
This is the correct take. Sell high.
comment in response to post
Ok, maybe worth a 2nd now?
comment in response to post
Still just a 3rd though, right?
comment in response to post
I'm guessing this is a comparison using Bedard's 2024/25 season stats only?

I just started delivering MoW a month ago. It has been good for me in several ways.

ffs even the cat has epic hair
comment in response to post
Could be. However that requires me to believe something that came out of Trump's mouth. A habit I don't wish to form.
comment in response to post
And the oil tariffs? Are you saying that prices at the pump will not rise? If so, that would certainly keep Trump somewhat pacified through the initial reactions to all of this.
comment in response to post
The market and gas prices are the most visible. They are the headline reactions, as well as the most important factors to Trump. How will an extremely impatient man handle it if those 2 factors move against him?

We need someone adept with a scalpel and tweezers. We have someone who prefers a sledgehammer and chainsaw.

Is there a stat for how many times a team centers the puck in front of their own net? Hawks do that a lot it seems.
comment in response to post
oooooh, well said. (not snarky, it's actual praise lol)
comment in response to post
Tough one. Could depend on the strength (or destruction) of the Elonald bromance.

'preciate the info, sir. I've always preferred your boring analysis over the sh*t posting / trolling / doom posting. Though I respect that you gotta do what moves you. ❤️

lol that's a fair point. (sadly) I practice a very dry brand of sarcasm so it seemed obvious to me. Maybe we'll get confirmation.
comment in response to post
That's exactly my point. They are moderate-ish "Republicans". Not sure what would happen if Murkowski re-branded as an "Independent". Maybe someone slightly less moderate than her could grab more gen elec. votes running with the (R) ?
comment in response to post
Considering that almost nobody on this site appreciates what a gift Manchin was for the Dems, I'd say this viewpoint won't get much traction.
comment in response to post
I think your sarcasm detector might need new batteries.
comment in response to post
I think hanging out the (R) shingle scores her moderate republican votes she wouldn't otherwise receive. True indies and practical Dems are okay with it.

I don't think he's any good. But they found one thing he did well when left w/Bedard for 60 games. And they moved him. They took away what minimal use he had.
comment in response to post
Yeah but some players are really good at sponging off of a great player. That's what they do. He would have been fine doing it again this year.
comment in response to post
54 points last year on Bedard's line. So of course they move him and remove the only use he had.
comment in response to post
Yet somehow this game still sucks.
comment in response to post
The tragedy is not the absurdity theater itself, but rather how effective and comforting it is for those who desire it.

@ByScottPowers is phenomenal with clips when he's covering a game
comment in response to post
He needs to stop passing to the front of his own net.

current roster players unlikely to be back next year: Kurashev Maroon Donato Smith Murphy Martinez Brodie (cheap buyout in the summer) Hopefully filled with cheap kids or major signing.

The scary thing is that even with a loss tonight, they'll be on a pace for about 6.5 more points than last year. I must have blacked out last year as a coping mechanism.
