I just recently read in a History book, how early in the 1930s, some Jewish academics within Germany tried to address some of the "valid points" and "legitimate grievances" alleged by the Nazis in an attempt to find a middle ground to co-exist with them.
You can imagine how that went.

Putin used to try this with Obama. Twice Putin made Obama wait 30 minutes after a P staffer confirmed Obama was on the line. After the 2nd time, a WH sit room staffer started practicing an Obama impersonation. At the start of call #3, "Obama" said he was there.

What needs to be said is: Israel/Palestine is ONLY a bitterly divisive issue because the leaders of both sides constantly work to make peaceful coexistence impossible. We are left with a false choice of brand X or brand Y genocidal maniacs, when what most Israelis&Palestinians want is to get along.

According to Bob Woodward's new book "War", Israel cut off all food and water Aid to Gaza on day one after the Hamas attack, it was only in response to Biden's pressure that they have been allowing any food in.

Der Spiegel is an excellent source and they have an English edition. Given America's current problems with polarization, Americans would do well to check at least one credible, foreign, news source regularly.

He couldn't name a single country in SEATO, and they are, you know, a key element of Trump 1's stated foreign policy. Does that count?

That's the part that I find heartbreaking it's like there's this mantra: "don't trust experts, but believe some random loudmouth who agrees with your prejudices."

Who's awful idea was it to call taking action after a tragedy "opportunistic", or. "Exploiting"?
