And we haven't even mentioned what happens when we put Canadian women on the ice.

Doug Ford flinched. No “olive branch” is trustworthy from the US at this point.

With the Dow poised to erase 6 months of growth, Trump is either idiotically stupid or stupidly idiotic to stay on the path he’s been treading.

I had to bring this here because it’s so good

It’s sad how current affairs YouTube channels’ thumbnails look identical to National Enquirer covers in the 90s.

Not even 24 hours. Trump is a bad actor in all senses of the phrase. #elbowsup www.cnn.com/2025/03/07/b...

A much better plan than barring or heavily tariffing Tesla is to regulate the absolute shit out of them. Increase mechanical safety standards. Add in software requirements. Enforce right to repair and privacy. cultmtl.com/2025/03/71-o...

Interesting to note that even after walking back tariff plans, the market is skeptical of Trump. Not seeing the same bounce back this time around.

Rumor is there will be another 1 month “pause” on tariffs. Again. I truly hope that provincial and federal governments keep their retaliatory measures in place until the tariffs are removed completely by the US. #cdnpoli #elbowsup

You would think that with the fundraising the CPC is pulling in it could do better than shitty campaign ads still harping on Trudeau.

The middle ground was months ago. As someone on Reddit said, don’t play chicken with Canadian Geese #elbowsup. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Soon: Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.

It sure did.

The President is lying about Social Security as an excuse to gut Social Security after promising not to touch it. Why? To pave the way for more tax cuts for the rich.

Adrian Brody thinks this speech is embarrassingly long & self-indulgent. #StateOfTheUnion

Dems made a mistake. Every 5 minutes one should have stood up like Al Green and left. #StateOfTheUnion

EXCLUSIVE: I recently spoke with Rep. Al Green who was just escorted from Donald Trump’s speech. We’ll have a chance to ask him more questions this evening. Here’s what he told me:

“The bad guys don’t respect the law” is about the only true thing The Fucker has said tonight. And he would know.

BREAKING: irony dead.

Trump backed GOP into a big corner with his “balanced budget” point. The ONLY way House GOP could even think about upholding their “no cuts to Medicaid” swing seat promises and their spending cut mandates is deficit spending and bad math. Now they have to gut Medicaid & hand it to Elon in public.

As Trump rattles off “waste” amounts, one is reminded of $1.4 million for the Secret Service to stay in Trump-owned properties. abcnews.go.com/US/trump-org...

I would love to have seen all Democrats stand up and turn their backs on this speech.

Trump whining that Democrats wouldn't applaud him even if he cured a disease and then a second later bragging about withdrawing from the World Health Organization

The office of the president is due no more respect than its occupant gives it.

Don’t believe it until it comes out of the orange fucker’s mouth. And not even then. It’s going to take decades to regain any trust, if ever. Canada remembers. www.cnbc.com/2025/03/04/t...

Prediction for tonight’s State of the Trumpsterfire: repurposing social security funds into a crypto reserve “to invest in Americans’ future”.

Heartily agree with one small suggestion to not denigrate dumpster fires. #trumpsterfire

Damned straight. #elbowsup

Someone is making a lot of money this week.

As much as it is a cathartic approach to the Trumpsterfire down south, it’s foolish and dangerous. Cutting off supply of essential services provides a pretext for even more severe action by the US. Keep energy flowing but add a painful export tariff on it instead. www.newsweek.com/canada-cut-o...

I love this, because it’s a win either way: it’s effective, coded communication for organizing internal resistance, or it’s an intentional diversion to waste some DOGE moron’s time figuring it out.

Elbows up.

It’s now time.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. www.cbc.ca/news/world/u...

About damn time.

It’s not _not_ time for Canada to invoke Article 4. #cdnpoli

Only the best people.

Nearly 80 years of European peace and international cooperation, gone in a month. www.newsweek.com/trump-europe...

I’m a big fan of the Chesterton’s Fence principle. As its corollary, I would now want to propose the common use of Musk’s Mallet: Destroying a system before you understand it will have major–often immediate–consequential effects you may not fully understand. www.thedailybeast.com/trump-offici...

That’s the problem with DOGE and the utter lack of planning and transparency. It’s just as likely to have been a group of bad actors using the cover as DOGE as it was to be DOGE itself not understanding (or caring about) the separation of federal, state, county, and municipal funding.

Pollievre has to do one thing to bring Conservative polling back up and one thing only: stop campaigning and work with the current government to find a path through our current national challenge from the south. Instead, we’ll get more “He’s just like Justin” ads. #cdnpoli

Pretty much on brand for a Musk-owned software team.

The new Gulf of America isn’t a body of water but rather the growing lack of trust and political goodwill between the US government and the rest of the world.
