since they're revisiting the 'Soviet emigree SHOCKED at incredible bounty of American supermarket!' playbook I think it's only fair to also make them tour the homeless encampment down by the creek and explain how the cops bulldoze it every 6 months for no reason

My expert opinion as a linguist, teacher, and parent is that it's not mansplaining, it's kidsplaining but we socialize girls out of it

“One young man sobbed when a guard pushed him to the floor. He said, ‘I’m not a gang member. I’m gay. I’m a barber.’ I believed him. *** He “began to whimper,” as his head was roughly shaved, “folding his hands in prayer as his hair fell.” He “asked for his mother & cried as he was slapped again.”

One of the quintessential features of our time is that companies, especially tech companies, insist on making things that they want but customers don't. Then having made a thing no one wants, their competitors rush to copy it and eventually the only options we have are all crap.

My only complaint is that while the name is hilarious, it isn't the sort of thing that could actually get Republicans to vote for. They need to write and promote the bill in such a way that it's really appealing to Republican voters, then blast the GOP for not supporting it.

“Those nasty Canadians are ripping us off and are controlled by Mexican cartels. They’re poisoning us with fentanyl and need to become the 51st state or they will pay a high price” is a belief that literally ZERO Americans had six weeks ago. It’s entirely invented from scratch.
