3. Also, Edward Rogers visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Rogers's SkyDome security staff kicked out a #BlueJays fan who was wearing a 'Canada Is Not For Sale' cap. If you have to follow the Jays with other fans, do it at your local sports bar. They need the business and the beer will be cheaper.

2. Labatt's and CIBC also owned the #BlueJays for 24 years. The first 6 were dismal, but expansion franchises didn't get much help back then. Of the other 18 seasons, 14 were winning ones with 5 division titles (in a 7-team AL East) and 2 World Series titles. Go away, Rogers.

Maybe blame me: In early 1999 I was in on a discussion about what the GTTA (Metrolinx's predecessor) should make its top 3 priorities in the wake of the Harris's cuts. I recommended turning the GO network into an S-Bahn setup, building a U-shaped subway through the core and integrating GO+TTC fares.

It's only 50 years since the Super GO electrification proposal. I hope to live a few decades more, but I don't expect this stuff to get done in my lifetime. In the meantime, Metrolinx has quite a few level crossings to the deal with (and they shouldn't be able to screw that up).

Sadder still: When First Gulf owned the East Harbour site, its CEO said the firm would build the transit hub for the public in exchange for rerouting the Gardiner and what we then called the Relief Line, and flood-proofing the Don River. Did CF buy those promises or did the city just forget?

You think Canada's telecom oligopoly and their lapdog CRTC would allow it? I wonder if we might need our own Canadian social media companies.
