The Trump administration is setting up a legal challenge to a crucial 1935 Supreme Court ruling that protects the power of independent agencies. Here's what you need to know.

The reaction of the world to our idiot administration.

There was plenty of evidence against Donald Trump about the 6th January insurrection… American justice failed its citizens #bbcpm

Fear of dissent is growing in America—just as Trump intends. His assaults on civil society's foundations are silencing voices. Leaders in these vital sectors must stand firm against Trump's intimidation and denounce his actions.

If you’re a journalist or lawmaker still planning to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner after WHCA cancelled Amber Ruffin to placate a petty tyrant, you need to dig deep and ask yourself why you’re really still going because it sure as hell isn’t to celebrate the First Amendment.

The Times has to issue a correction here. An Executive order can’t “require” any such thing. Calling it ‘an aggressive push to catch” fraud is bad editorial judgment. The first part is demonstrably false. Those who have any voice to the Times need to demand this. Might as well say pigs fly.

The breadth of these executive orders makes me wonder if Republicans (or GOP leaning law firms, conservative colleges, GOP states with certain voting laws) can't imagine a future in which Dems regain the White House and just do their version of this stuff. Or maybe they assume no more elections?

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social should be the spokesperson for the Democratic Party and represent our POV No mincing words, no bending the knee like @schumer.senate.gov

The press corps will fall for this, setting Hegseth’s lies against Goldberg’s journalism so that it looks like ordinary political conflict instead of what it is, a crime that would land anyone else in jail. www.rawstory.com/pete-hegseth...

American civil society is full of abject cowards, that is the issue. The government is a mafia state but it is winning because most American elite institutions are devoid of anything resembling integrity and are folding rather than stand on principles that were little more than marketing.

@maddow.msnbc.com @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com please stay on this story, this is so important

Why do Trump and the MAGA Cult Grifter Leaders want to get rid of the Department of Education? Educated people disfavor dictators and grifters.

A leaked Wall Street memo confirms that privatizing the Post Office would mean higher prices, mass layoffs, and worse service — especially for rural America.

we have an utter fucking nimrod attempting to set himself up as dictator because for 50 years anyone who could have stopped him has dithered and procrastinated, hoping someone else would do it

So Trump saw Dems pathetic response to Jan 6th and concluded basically everyone with 'power' in America was actually a pathetic push over coward and... It turns out he was right.

The good news is that there *are* people meeting the moment. youtu.be/EJxRtjma7lc

NEW! Sworn declarations filed last night confirm the Trump admin sent INNOCENT people to rot in prison El Salvador, including a professional soccer player jailed and tortured by the Maduro regime, who entered this country LEGALLY to seek asylum, and who has NO CRIMINAL RECORD in either country.

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

Injustice x 1000 Ohio Republicans claim $600 million for public education is "unsustainable," but they have no problem handing that same amount to billionaire team owners for a new stadium. Priorities? Not our kids. #EduSky

Republicans claim to care about the debt, but they never want to tax the rich. They only want to take it from the health care and programs for the poor and elderly — while CUTTING taxes on the rich. It’s not about efficiency. And they don’t care about the debt. It’s a con.

Again: We are in the Golden Age of Corruption. newrepublic.com/post/192244/...

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable. Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes. Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

W/o endorsing Marisa's assesement below, here's what you have to understand about NY D's. - often products of machine politics - live in constant fear of the NYPost - most intense political combat is reserved for leftists and progressive activists who they view as their primary threat

Sen Dems vote against CR. Then demand a new minority leader.

What is wrong with giving a new leader a chance? A new approach, a fresh approach. Someone who has integrity, leadership skills, represents a key state, has guts and the confidence of the base. Time to put ego aside and screw seniority. This is my nominee.

I cannot emphasize this enough: no one will remember the shutdown even happened when it’s time to vote next year. One way or the other!

With an opposition party like this, what is the point?

I’ll say this now; I’ll donate to the Dem who primaries Schumer’s ass. He has to go. Pretty much all of the Dem “leadership” (they ain’t leading shit) has to go. What’s the point of having two parties if they both just do the same fucking thing?

Resign @schumer.senate.gov . Do us all a favor and resign. You are NOT the man to lead us in this moment. You’re not listening to your voters. Resign

I just hope the plan in the Senate on the CR isn’t to create the illusion of resistance in an attempt to placate the base before an inevitable surrender. Choose a lane, explain the lane clearly, don’t try and fool us.

Cowardice. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/11/u...

Funny....All of a sudden, no one's performing arbitrary sex-change operations on unexpecting grade-schoolers anymore.

This was the strategy in 1930s Germany. It is the strategy of the trump regime today. Hitler would be proud of his youth

If you can't count on these senators to take this very simple action of not voting to confirm MAGA nominees, then you certainly will never be able to count on them to do the hard things. Primary them all. Never forget. Especially the hot-air-in-a-skin-suit Schiff when he finally comes up in 2030(!)

Dropkick Murphys just had an epic moment at their show: They made a friendly wager with a fan in a MAGA shirt—“Let’s see where it’s made.” Then they checked his MAGA shirt tag… Made in Nicaragua. They swapped it with a Made in America Dropkick Murphys tee. Legendary.

@senatedemocrats.bsky.social @housedemocrats.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social You better not give a single vote and bail out republicans. Not a single fu€king vote , you spineless do- nothing cowards

Over and over and over elected Dems show us that they don't understand their constituents *at all* Many of them simply just need to be replaced.

Tadaa.
