Turned in my laptop & badge, had to walk 3 floors of ghost town to find someone to turn them into. So long, cafeteria. Goodbye, crystal boats. Farewell, patio turkeys. It's not what I imagined my last day would be like. I hope everyone finds a new place with folks as great as the ones we worked with

Today is my last day at the job I've been at for 21 years, which is shutting down. It's been really hard to watch good people leave or get cut this last year. I'm one of the fortunate ones, I am starting a new job on Tuesday. Excited but sad at the same time.

Realized today that it's been years since I had an actual snow day since we all work from home now, so I took one! Guilt-free, lazy, watch X-Files in bed kind of day.

False spring turned into the biggest snow dump of the season overnight. Glad we've got warm temps coming to melt it all fast! Thankful for L, who offered to use his big snowblower to do my drive. My little electric doesn't like this heavy wet snow

today's #silversmithing project: carnelian agate post earrings. Need to do some solder cleanup still but need to get the right bits.

Slava Ukraini! In September 2011, the City of Hopkins, MN officially formed a sister city relationship with Boryspil, Ukraine. To our Ukrainian brothers and sisters we send our love and hope.

Hello makers! Hopkins MN American Legion Auxiliary is hosting a market in May and we are looking for vendors! If you are interested please email [email protected] for info and to reserve a table!

Finished up the pendant today with a peridot in the center. Took poor Melvin to the vet for an ear infection and then he and I took a well deserved nap.

We played Hues and Cues for adventure night, we'd both been wanting to try it. J started off awful at cues (apple?? There are SO MANY colors of apples!) but by the end of the night I did manage to guess 2 EXACTLY! cues for those were "cloud" and "firetruck" we both decided we'll play this one again

Today's adventure in #silversmithing - started a pendant for a dear friend. E is 93 & such a loving spirit. A while back I was notified my employer is shutting down. E was so encouraging & prayed every day I'd find a new job, & I have! I wanted to thank her for all her love. Stone setting tomorrow!

Finished off the pendant! This labradorite has such a lovely blue flash! #silversmithing

Still felt like playing with scraps so put this together after dinner from some leftover jump rings I had left from #silversmithing 2 class at Veberod. Have a nice flashy labradorite cabochon to set in it tomorrow.

Yesterday was not a good day for #silversmithing practice. I braided some wire but not much else. I just wasn't inspired. Today I just played... No idea what I was making or where it was headed and I quite like the result! Sterling silver butterfly ring with pink tourmaline stone

Today's #silversmithing practice- more fun with scraps- another leaf, flame painted this time and an 8mm rose quartz set on a hollow form pendant. Chuffed that I got the stone set without denting the hollow form. You might be wondering why I'm working so much with copper... 🧵/3

Age yourself with a movie you saw in the theater (WITHOUT AN ACCOMPANYING ADULT edition) With my cousins, our parents sent us to The Goonies after Grandpa's funeral thinking it would be good for us to have some fun but tbh I really hate that movie now and don't even really remember the plot

when the world is messed up, playing with fire and hammers and metal feels so good. First attempts at fold forming tonight in #silversmithing practice. Will definitely be playing more with this.

Today's #silversmithing practice -I really had no plan and just played with scraps from previous experiments and heat & patina. Ended up with my first brooch (leopard) and a button (leaves). Need to improve my brooch pin finding creation skills, but the pin works and latches!

Today's #silversmithing practice - poppy earrings. Had fun learning to shape these from copper sheet.

Adventure Night! We checked out DUCK!, the new claw machine arcade. J learned valuable lessons about impulse control (part of my plan, I KNEW he would spend all of his $ and deeply regret it, and that I would repay MOST of it once the lesson stung enough to be remembered) and I won a kitty! #joy

Bundle up folks, or maybe just stay inside. Hope everyone has a warm place to shelter today.

So are eggs just like "market price" like fancy seafood restaurants now? Cub has lots of eggs today but removed all the prices?? Has anyone else seen that going on?

So which do we think the end piece of R's rock looks the most like now? #rockhound

Update: wasn't much in the troll's head except gray matter! Cut easily, loads easier than agate or jasper. Felt maybe too easy for chert too, tho I haven't cut any of that in a while. Now R will have several lucky rocks instead of one big one. #rockhound

Treated my neighbors with heart shaped masitas and alfajores from Del Sur for Valentine's Day today. Dulce de leche perfection, and the empanadas are fantastic too. Chorizo is my favorite but they have new ones on the menu I didn't see until after I ordered. Will have to go back soon!

Today's #silversmithing practice - a quick heart pendant for my sis for Valentine's Day. Sterling silver, copper and pink tourmaline.

A friend found this in her landscaping. She picked it up and noticed the druzy. She asked me to slice it open for her because she's super curious what's inside. I think it looks like a troll and would probably keep it whole but gotta admit I'm curious too. Will post updates. #rockhound #lapidary
