Black Russian Olives do the same, but are not related to cottonwood. I just had a huge 4 trunk Olive taken down (they are an invasive species and I will be eliminating babies for years to come).

testing became the means for evaluating the efficacy of schools and determining merit increases for teachers. Teaching to the test became the norm, hence the "tell us what we need to do to make an A and we'll do it." Synthesizing information from disparate areas of study lost value. 🧵

This lack of curiosity boggles my mind. At 61, I am still learning and curious about things. For me, the internet is a tool for finding information. I think the real issue in the US (I don't know what education is like elsewhere) is the fallout from "No Child Left Behind" where standardized 🧵

I miss the days of Dr. Ruth educating people about sexuality and making it ok to talk about sex of all kinds. Thanks to her and exposure to many different types of people, nothing fazes me and I am happy to live and let live. It is a shame that Rowling hasn't learned that.
